Theteamwith Village Life hasbeenbusyoverthelast severalmonthssortingthroughscrapbooksandhistories ofthecommunitytocompilefunfactsandbiosof someoftheearlypioneersandsta-•thathelpedshape ourcommunity. OneamazingfactthatIhavetheprivilegeofsharingis thatVillagenewshasbeensharedwithourresidents consistentlyinprintproducedbyourresidentsforcloseto 50 years. Thefirstsanctionedpublication, The Pulse Beat,which waspublishedmonthly,wasfoundedundertheeditorship offormerresidentMissVirginiaThe Subers. Pulse Beat introducedmanagement,operationspersonnel,andnew Joseph Trainor residents.Othertopicsincludedproposedcommunity Chief Administrative Officer projects,Villagehappenings,residentbirthdaysand John Knox Village anniversaries,achaplain’scornerandacalendarofdaily activities.Thisfour-pagepublicationwasenhancedby of Central Florida picturesanddrawings. Itishardtobelieve,butthefirstresident, Intheearlyyears,modifiedcottageson Mrs.EdnaWillett,movedintohernew AzaleaDrivehousedadministrationa homeonAzaleaLaneonOctober3, maintenance.HousesonJonquilCourt 1972,intheoriginalcommunitynamed housedservicespertainingtorelig Aldersgate.Other andsociallife. residentsfollowedsoon after.
