CONCRETE TRANSIENCE / 2019 this rigorous, iterative exercise seeks to question the core tenet of a construction site: change. when a moment of change is captured, its movement lies latent, betraying a stirring narrative of dynamism, depth, order, reflection, and suspension. these stories reveal a temporarily defined world, a concrete transience.

models, made of paper and paste, provided inspiration for an approach to our team’s redesign of Boone Municipal Airport. the idea of a column and ribbon from these models, as well as the themes of veiling and atmospheric response from Miralles’ Olympic Archery Range undergirded our site plan and massing form for a reimagined municipal airport.

This coworking space incubates businesses + provides a place where ideas hatch. Its design optimizes a secluded building unit by emphasizing transparency + collaboration through interior furnishings, layout, + materials. This build-out involved my design, management of our general contractor + his team, branding for the coworking concept, as well as marketing materials.

12555 FARM HILL PLACE LOBBY HUNTLEY, IL // TANGLEWOOD PROPERTIES, LTD
Using cues from Farm Hill Place’s door details and ceiling plan, a geometric arrangement was explored.
12555 Farm Hill Place is a prairie-style office building built in the late 1990s. Its lobby was dated, underlit, and cramped. To connect the lobby to its physical place, a new flooring design was envisioned and installed. This design joined updated finishes, new lighting, and an expanded layout to create a statement entry for 12555.
