JESSE PARKINSON PORTFOLIO
Junkyard.
My Thesis Project at BArch. A Metabolist inspired place for work and learning in which the petrol car is memorialised. The project consisted of Workshops, Classrooms and a Creche. Cars would be brought in and used as parts to teach people skills to help thier employability. I loved this project but i feel i could have realised it better. I Have left the panels as they were in the exhibition to convey the story best.
This image is one of many i could use for this project but i love this one as it truly encapsulates the project

LiBridge Structural Detail:
1. Primary structure, steel truss system of bridge.
2. Secondary structure, 400mm diameter steel beam spanning width of bridge.
3, Tertiary structure, steel 1500mm x 1500mm space frame to span the bridge providing hard-points for suspended pods.
4. Steel Grid frame at 1500mm spacers with attachment points for the pod to be bolted to the space frame.
5. Cellular beam frame of pod consisting of 500mm x 200mm cellular beams.
6. 40mm steel rods, tying cellular frame together laterally.
7. 30mm diagonal steel rods providing structural rigidity and preventing racking.
8. Wall Panel Tray inner, 1500mm x 4200mm hollow steel tray formed with a rim attaching to cellular frame via a top hat system. 5mm flame retardant polythene skin on interior side
9. 200mm polyisocyanurate insulation under floor and in Wall Panel Tray.
10. Wall Panel Tray outer, 20mm Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene allowing for rigidity and weatherproofing.
11. 5mm Neoprene gasket laying on top of cellular beam, covering gap between panels providing water tightness.
12. 3200mm x 4200mm window module, bolted using a top hat system to cellular frame as with the Wall Panel Trays.
13. 220mm precast concrete floor slab providing floor strengh for books.
14. Steel and glass footbridge floor system underneath.
