Looking Forward
In 1966, a small group of faithful, forwardthinking Christian Scientists broke ground with a vision: to create a place where healing could be supported, protected, and nurtured a haven where the ministry of the Christian Science nurse could quietly strengthen the work of practitioners and bless the wider movement.

That first groundbreaking was more than a construction milestone. It was an act of spiritual conviction. It affirmed that healing matters That care matters That the ministry of the Christian Science nurse is essential to the ongoing strength and expression of our Cause

Over the decades, that conviction has borne fruit. first groundbreaking first Looking forward - Looking forwardduplex groundbreaking duplex groundbreaking
...a haven where the ministry of the Christian Science nurse could quietly strengthen the work of practitioners and bless the wider movement.

Independent Living Services include:

Sixty years is not merely longevity. It is accumulated proof.

In 1985, the East Wing and staff apartments were added. In 1998, a Christian Science Nurses Training program was established In 2005, the residential program expanded the scope of care
And now, in 2026, we look forward again to the LIFT Training Center (a dedicated space for training Christian Science Nurses), independent living duplexes, and ultimately, a new facility designed to support the next generation of healing work.
But the true story of The Leaves is not buildings. It is care and healing. It is Christian Science nurses rising in the night to turn a patient, to offer nourishment, to bandage, to steady a step to watch and bear witness It is prayer upheld in an atmosphere of tenderness and dignity
At The Leaves over the decades, we have witnessed healings of ailments such as: arthritis, blindness, cancer, broken bones, depression, stroke, incontinence, migraines, memory loss, cuts and wounds, seizures, and many, many other conditions that were medically diagnosed.
These are not abstractions. They are demonstrations. They are proofs of what is possible when spiritual care and Christian Science nursing stand faithfully in support of healing Sixty years is not merely longevity. It is accumulated proof. It is decades of steadfast service It is board members stewarding the mission It is churches praying faithfully It is donors who gave generously and wholeheartedly to sustain and strengthen this work
How you can stand with The Leaves in this 60th year?
Pray with Psalm 90 Submit a testimony
Become a recurring donor
Encourage your church to participate
For sixty years, we have seen God’s work made evident in healing, in protection, and in steady progress. And as we turn toward the future, our prayer is that the beauty of the Lord continue to rest upon this work and establish it firmly for the decades ahead.
We honor the care given and give gratitude for the healings that have already taken place. And as we reflect on six decades of faithful service, the prayer of the Psalmist feels especially fitting:
“Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” Psalm 90:16–17

And then we turn thought forward. Because, what does sixty mean spiritually? It means maturity Stability Established purpose A foundation proven reliable And it means readiness
Throughout this year, we are marking 60 years in ways that lift thought and unite the field:
• Collecting 60 documented healings
• Highlighting 60 faces who have shaped The Leaves
• Sharing 60 acts of radical kindness (ARKs)
• Offering 6 practical and metaphysical webinar gifts to the field
• Highlighting 6 Christian Science nurses as we renovate the Lodge into the LIFT Training Center
• Sharing the stories of 6 individuals and families impacted by new staff housing and independent living duplexes
• Inviting 60 new recurring or first-time donors to help meet a Matching Grant
• Outreach was made to churches in our community, with a goal of engaging 60 to stand with us in this milestone year
On October 10, our 60th anniversary day, we will mark the occasion in a special way and dedicate ourselves anew to the future of this ministry. In the months that follow, we will share 60 days of reflections and stories drawn from what has been gathered throughout the year, culminating on GivingTuesday on December 1, 2026
All of this is more than anniversary marketing. It is metaphysical preparation.
A glimpse into the ministry of witnessing God’s healing power.

“Recently I’ve been more consistent and systematic in my prayerful preparation before coming to work. That preparation doesn’t just include me. It includes the Christian Science nursing floor at The Leaves and the ministry of Christian Science nursing as a whole.
This prayer supports the healing atmosphere at The Leaves, reinforcing the expectancy of healing and paving the way for witnessing it. Healing is going on all the time. We see it in big and little ways.
Just yesterday I arrived a little early, saw on the schedule which patient I’d be working with, and felt the angel message to go peek in. When I opened the door, two Christian Science Nurses were assisting the patient They lovingly and efficiently addressed the situation and seamlessly turned it over to me It was harmonious, respectful, and kind You could feel the Christ in action, caring for the human need in a practical way, governed by the standard for a Christian Science Nurse as laid out by our Leader in The Manual of The Mother Church. Throughout the afternoon and evening I continued listening for God’s direction. Several times I found myself in just the right place at the right time to help, and others did the same for me. It felt like living this statement from Science and Health: ‘The rich in spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood… and blessed is that man who seeth his brother’s need and supplieth it’ (p. 518:15–19). There is so much good going on at The Leaves.”

While we celebrate the past, we are also buildings have served faithfully for six deca and a haven of care, we must prepare facil ministry itself

The LIFT Training Center will support the education of Christian Science nurses for the future, ensuring our Movement has competent individuals to carry on this important work
Independence at The Leaves, our new independent living duplexes provide dignified housing that strengthens community life. And the new facility we are planning will ensure that healing work continues in a space that is safe, beautiful, and purpose-built for Christian Science nursing.

Where grace is rooted in community and independence flourishes.

We welcome your prayerful support and spiritual conviction that this ministry is permanent and divinely impelled. And we welcome the provision that enables this vision to take form. For sixty years, The Leaves has stood as a place where healing is expected, supported, and honored. Now we stand at another point of forward movement not only in construction, but in thought.
We plan to build:
A new Christian Science Nursing facility Independent Living Duplexes and renovate the current Lodge for our training program (LIFT Center)

Why space matters in healing work
One of our main goals in the near future is to build a new facility. At this point, it would cost more to renovate our existing facility than to build a new one.
In our care and everything we do, our aim at The Leaves is to “maintain the dignity and defense of our Cause…” (Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 3:9). If the healing work is to be done with dignity, private rooms with showers would be best. Currently, our patient rooms do not include bathrooms with showers/baths and therefore patients need to be wheeled down the hall for a shower. This erodes the idea of dignity, privacy, and efficiency that we strive to uphold. So in the new facility, each of the new patient rooms will include ADA compliant bathrooms complete with a shower/bath

What’s next?
More healings.
More trained Christian Science nurses.
More strengthened families.
More proofs of God’s ever-present care.
Join us as we step into the next sixty years with gratitude for what has been, confidence in what is, and spiritual expectancy for what is unfolding
