Hello, My name is Jireh Ian Czar Uy, and I just recently graduated from my undergrad degree from the Department of Architecture in Silliman University Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. In this portfolio I have selected projects from my undergrad course, and projects from my undergrad apprenticeship experience in the field of architecture. I would be honored to show these projects to you. I am constantly looking for new experiences that allow me to grow professionally and personally, and I believe that architecture should embody expression and simplicity in articulating space to dictate emotions, elevate user experience and promote sustainability as means of revealing the underlying essence of a structure, while respecting cultural aspects and the natural environment.

Yugtong Paglaum

Subject: Design X - Architectural Thesis Group: Rian Cifra, Jedaiah Ponce, Jireh Uy State: Completed Yugtong Paglaum Detention Center is a rehabilitation facility that caters to Children In Conflict with the Law (CICL), a project that promotes safety, security and sustainability. According to Republic Act No. 9344, each province or Highly Urbanized Cities are responsible for building, funding and operating these establishments. Seeing as Negros Oriental currently does not hae this type of facility, Yugtong Paglaum will be the proposed project that will allow Negros Oriental to build the Detention Center that it needs. The Aim of this project is to rehabilitate and help Children In Conflict with the Law by means of Architectural Interventions, this is achieved by introducing open spaces, Biophilic Designs, Formulating buildings for the Children and subtle uses of color psychology embedded into the designs of each space, which would then in turn aid the children and prepare them for their reintegration back into society.

Mercado Residential Apartments Firm: Tia Architectural Designs Designer: Archt. Neil Arvin Tia, uap Responsibilities: Floor Plan Proposal, 3D Render, Blueprint productions Mercado Residential Apartments is located in Barangay Bagacay, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. It is a two-storey proposed building with 8 units, 2 large units at the ground floor and 4 smaller units on the second floor. The building’s facade is designed with WPC panels together with protruding elements on the front windows of the building. From the sketches and diagrams of the designer, my role in the project was to create the proposed floor plans, provide a 3D rendering for visualization and produce the blueprints after the approval from the owner.

dauin one-storey residential Firm: GERGUM Construction and Supply Location: Poblacion, Dauin, Negros Oriental Responsibilities: Design Proposal,Floor Plan Proposal, 3D Render, Blueprint productions The Dauin one storey residential project is located in the center of the town of Dauin in Negros Oriental, with a single bedroom and a basement guest room, the proposed building came from an existing building of which the owner envisioned to be renovated. The design is derived from the original building keeping all the main features and levels with added exterior designs based on a reference from the client. My role in the project was to assist the owner of GERGUM Construction and Supply to propose a design for a single storey residential building, provide 3D renderings and produce blueprint plans for the construction of the building.

dumaguete transportation hub Undergrad Design Project Instructor: Archt. Alexander D. Udjaji, uap Silliman University, Dumaguete City The Dumaguete Transportation Hub caters to Buses that travel around the province of Negros Oriental. This project serves as an entry point of passengers to take a cab or a jeepney to get inside the city. Additionally the transpo hub also caters to buses that travel to Cebu making it more convenient and accessible to passengers. The materials of the building features stone cladding on walls and WPC with ACP materials partly on the second floor and Concrete with Rectangular tubes as trellis.

evolution of form Simple mass We start off with a basic geometrical mass for the building that can be easily manipulated as a form of base
mass split The geometric mass is then split into 2 sections, the admin with a reception area and the passenger waiting area
one storey - two storey Considering the building’s height, the geometrical mass is then manipulated to formulate the 2-storey and the 1-storey areas
initial form From the arrangement of the spaces taken from the floor plan, the geometrical mass then takes its initial form
details and final form Arriving at the Final product, details are then placed and architectural forms added
