NRF Student Challenge

Annually, the National Retail Federation (NRF) holds the Student Challenge, a competition that challenges students to develop a series of products, a financial analysis, and a marketing plan. Our challenge was to act as a product development team and create a seasonal line for our team ’ s chosen retailer, Nordstrom. My participation in the NRF Student Challenge was an experience I will never forget. We will continue to draw on all the lessons we learned along the way as we move forward into our careers, from working in product development to crafting marketing and distribution strategies. Creating a product line and business plan from scratch taught us more than we could have imagined, as we were able to apply what we have learned in our retail classes and experiences to a realworld retailing scenario. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, this experience pushed us to work collaboratively in alternative ways and enhanced our appreciation for teamwork. While the experience was challenging, it has been so exciting to develop our sustainably chic techwear line,
