Editorial Comments... Jill Bayers Hotchkiss As I write this editorial, we are preparing for Christmas while juggling several publications, directories, bull sale catalogs Jill Hotchkiss and big video projects. We are truly blessed. At this time of year, while working very long hours to get the publications and videos out on time, it gets crazy and chaotic. As well, all of you have your own busy schedules right now. It is important to take a break and reflect on the true meaning of this season. We also reflect on the past year and all of its events. We as a family went through the highs of celebrating our 100th ranch anniversary in July and being recognized by the American Hereford Association in November, to the ultimate low of losing Dad in July. This left a huge hole in our hearts and lives even though we know he is in a much better place, back with Mom and other family members and our Lord. As we move forward to joyous events of Christmas and family, shortly thereafter, our nephew Ty Hotchkiss is marrying Rosie Douglas. Many of you know these young people as they have been around with us on a few video jobs the last several years. We are so happy for them and their bright future. Rosie is from Scotland and comes from a Hereford family there. She is almost finished at South Dakota State University and will officially graduate in May. You (continued on page 8)

Greg Shaw, Caldwell, ID, John Loewen, Waukomis, OK, Dale and Mary Barber, Channing, TX, and Clifford and Barbara Copeland, Nara Visa, NM, were inducted into the Hereford Hall of Fame Oct. 26, in Kansas City, MO, during the American Hereford Association (AHA) Hereford Honorees Reception during the AHA Annual Meeting and Conference. The Hall of Fame honor annually recognizes breeders who have dynamically influenced the direction and advancement of the Hereford breed.
Hall of Merit — Jay George of United Livestock Brokers, Lebo, KS was presented the Hall of Merit award by Bruce Thomas and Kevin Schultz.
