Anniversary Greetings

Rev. Christopher L. Rogers Sr. Senior Pastor from

BelovedFaithFamilyandFriends, Graceandpeacetoyouinthematchless,marvelous,andmightynameofourLordandSavior,Jesus Christ!

Today, we stand in holy awe and heartfelt gratitude as we celebrate 179 years of God’s unfailing faithfulness to the First Baptist Church of Chesterfield. Founded in 1846 by men and women born into the chains of slavery but reborn in the freedom of Christ, this congregation stands as living proof that what God births, God sustains. Just seventy years after the founding of this nation, our ancestors, withcallousedhandsandcourageoushearts, builtahouseofworshipthattimecouldnot silenceandtrialscouldnotshake.

Through war and peace, through sorrow and success, through pandemics and progress, the Lord has indeed been our “dwelling place in all generations”. Each brick, each prayer, each act of faith laidbythosewhocamebeforeushasformedasacredfoundationuponwhichwenowstand, notin pride, butinprofoundgratitude. Theirprayersbecameourpillars;theirpainbecameourplatform; their perseverance became our proof that what God births, God sustains. We are the fruit of their faith, theevidenceoftheirendurance, andthecontinuationoftheircalling.

This year’s theme, “Faithful Foundations, Fresh Fire”, invites us not only to honor our past but to ignite our future. The same God who steadied their hands is now stirring our hearts to move forwardinfaithwithrenewedpassion, purpose, andpower. ThesameGodwhofueledtheirfaithis fanning our fire today, with holy boldness, renewed vision, and revived hearts. Our foundation is firm, butourflamemustburnanew. FortheGodwhowasfaithfulthenisstillfaithfulnow, calling us to be torchbearers of truth, ambassadors of grace, and builders of His Kingdom for generations yetunborn.

So let us celebrate with joy, worship with wonder, and serve with unwavering devotion, knowing thatourhistoryisHisstoryandourfutureissecurelyheldinHishands.

TotheGodofourpast,ourpresent,andourpromise,beallglory,honor,andpraise. ThesameGod whobroughtusthroughwillnowtakeusbeyond! Thebestisyettocome! Withheartfeltlove,
