MOTIV8 MONTHLY UPDATE
February 2022 This month we would like to introduce you to our Motiv8 Employability Team! Our Motiv8 Employability Team supports participants who are starting to feel able to look for work or training opportunities.
This stage often comes after they have
received support for other issues through their dedicated key worker.
The team provide focused action plans

and practical support to participants who want to upskill through training, gain experience through volunteering or master interview techniques to successfully gain employment.
They can also support them with job searching and developing selfemployment opportunities.
Dominie Fisher, Motiv8 Employability Team Manager, said: "Our Employability Team seeks out opportunities and resources to introduce participants to potential employers, trainers and voluntary groups. This is part of the wrap-around support that Motiv8 provides to our participants to increase their chances of moving closer to the world of work."
Here is some feedback from one of our participants: "Thank you for all your help - going to careers fairs with me, helping me to rewrite my CV, checking my application forms, doing mock interviews and giving me written feedback.
As a result of all this support, I have been offered a job.

for your help."

Maria's Story When Maria was referred to Motiv8 from Citizens Advice, she had not long moved out of supported housing after being there for 16 months to recover from a substance misuse relapse. She was having to start over again at the age of 49. Her Motiv8 Keyworker helped her access
support for housing
issues, benefits and her PIP assessment, as well as counselling to help with her confidence.
Maria is now working with Motiv8's Employability Team and hopes to find work soon. She said, "I cannot emphasise enough how incredible Motiv8 has been for me and would recommend them to anyone and everyone going through difficult times."
