Born in Chiayi, currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. Jessie Hou is an independent creator specializing in epistolary writing. Through words, she explores the fluidity of time and the intricate crossings of human relationships. Her creative project, Island Express, began in 2020, using letters as a medium to capture fleeting emotions, allowing moments to pause and memories to become landscapes one can revisit through writing.
For her, writing is a dialogue with time—where the past, present, and future converge in the space between words. The warmth of a fleeting moment, the weight of nostalgia, and the quiet echoes of longing find their way into each letter. She believes that every act of writing is a journey, and every reader is a fellow traveler on this drifting island.
Preferred Mediums: Oil pastels, watercolor pencils, acrylics, and other compatible materials.
