STUDENT HANDBOOK

Please read the handbook in its entirety as it includes pertinent information regarding dress code, technology, grading, communications, etc.

DRESS CODE AND UNIFORMS
All JICS students must be in school uniforms. Uniform guidelines may be found in the student handbook. Uniforms may be ordered through Lands’ End or Read’s Uniforms.

JEANS FOR MISSIONS
On Fridays, students may wear JICS T-shirts with jeans. No holes or rips of any kind are allowed. They may also wear Crocs. To participate, students must bring in $1.

We encourage new families to download the FACTS Family Portal App The FACTS Family Portal App combines mobile access to the FACTS Family Portal with other information parents need most often. It is important to make any updates to your contact information such as mailing address, phone numbers and email address by contacting admissions@jics.org. We also encourage families to opt in to text messages so that you can receive important announcements.

CAMPUS VISITORS
Safety is a top priority at James Island Christian School. During the school day, all visitors to campus must check in at the front desk and provide their driver’s license. Each guest is issued a printed name tag to be worn while they are in the building.

WHAT TO BRING
Each child will need to bring a backpack that is large enough to carry a folder. A change of clothes.
A small blanket for rest time. Blankets are sent home weekly for washing.
LUNCH AND SNACK
Please send a morning snack and afternoon snack.
You may send a lunch or purchase lunch from Food For Thought. Purchased lunches will be delivered to the classroom. We do not have the ability to heat food sent from home.
Please do not send any nut products in your child’s lunch.
Please send a water bottle with a sealable lid each day for your child.
LOWER SCHOOL INFORMATION

For drop off, carline begins at 7:40AM and ends at 7:55AM. If your child arrives after 7:55AM, please park and walk them into the front office to check in with the front desk. Pick up procedures vary by grade level. Instructions will be sent out before the start of school.

All lower school students eat in the cafeteria in Dority. You may send a lunch or purchase lunch from Food For Thought. Purchased lunches will be delivered to the cafeteria and distributed to the students.
