James Island Christian’s mission is to provide an opportunity for academic excellence within a Christ-centered environment that complements the teaching of the church and school.

JAMES ISLAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IS.... a wonderful community that unites in a passion for Christian education. We are tremendously blessed to have dedicated faculty who know and love their students and are experts in their field. We provide a beautiful campus that is safe and secure so students can focus on learning and growing into the young men and women God has created them to be.

In all things, we teach and learn through a Biblical worldview. Our academic program begins in our lower school, where our environment is intentionally designed to develop students who are inquisitive, engaged and challenged to discover while building a solid foundation. Our middle school is designed to allow students to explore their unique gifts and talents through new experiences and areas of study while supporting adolescent learners. The high school provide strong academic offerings which allow students to fulfill their interests, embrace intellectual curiosity and encourage students to wrestle with life’s questions from a Biblical worldview.

We desire to provide all of our students an educational experience that is balanced and supportive. Our mission is to prepare students for college and beyond spiritually, academically, socially and physically.

LOWER SCHOOL

Grades PreK-5

Our lower school begins with our K4 program which teaches through hands-on, experimental learning models, nurturing students’ boundless curiosity. As students progress in lower school, they build solid foundation through a Biblical worldview across disciplines that continue to engage, enrich, and deepen cognitive, emotional, and social skills while inspiring excitement for learning.

Passionate and dedicated teachers foster environments that spark curiosity, exploration, and a joy for learning, Innovative Pre-K program in an environment designed for our youngest learners.

Balanced curriculum providing academic rigor, enrichment offerings, and co-curricular offerings including school-wide performances and after-school clubs.

Weekly chapel led by our Lower School Pricipal.

Weekly enrichment classes include: art, P.E., music and Spanish.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Grades 6-8

Our middle school goes beyond academic preparation. At JICS, students explore their identity in Christ, purpose and place, fostering a strong sense of belonging.

Rigorous yet age appropriate curriculum that fosters a safe and nurturing Christ-centered community where every student feels valued and belongs.

Weekly enrichment offerings in art, P.E., music and technology.

A student life program that promotes a Biblical worldview through weekly community groups, engaging weekly chapels, daily activity periods, overnight retreats and field trips, theme days, and various co-curricular activities.

HIGH SCHOOL

Grades 9-12

In our high school, we have designed a program to cultivate our future leaders.

Our college preparatory academic program includes a solid sequence of core courses taught through a Biblical worldview. Our high school program also includes a J-Term, mission trips, and spiritual retreats.

Students compliment their academics with our many cocurricular offerings that foster growth, instill confidence, and hone leadership skills.

Spiritual life programs aim to develop a Biblical worldview and prepare students for life beyond high school. Weekly chapel, leadership and service are integral parts to our program.

A supportive community where students are known and mentored by a committed faculty throughout the upper school experience.
