EXHIBITION LAYOUT

This pop-up exhibition inspired by the emotional journey of moving abroad—the feeling of standing in an empty room for the first time, and slowly turning it into something that feels like home. The space unfolds in three acts: from white, to color, to deep tones— mirroring the personal transition from unfamiliarity to self-expression to quiet belonging.

Color x Jess Xiaoyi Han

[Porcelain]

[Painting]

Founded by Zhekai and Keren, the studio draws from ceramic traditions while letting form emerge from material. Through hand-applied kohiki glazing, their porcelain surfaces give white a tactile richness—subtle, imperfect, and full of restraint. In the White space, their work speaks of beginnings: muted, searching, and quietly present.

Color x Kan Hung-Ju [Painting]

Jess Xiaoyi Han (b. 1997 in Dalian, China) has lived between New York and China for most of her life and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. She received her BFA from School of Visual Arts (SVA) with a concentration in illustration.

White x

Working with alkyd paint, Han utilizes an expressional color palette to create soft, organic shapes. The small orb featured in each work is reflective of her state of being, often blended with her memories, interests and personal experiences. Her work examines and reflects the artist’s interior emotional dialogue.

[Porcelain] Rooted in 400 years of porcelain history, 1616 / arita japan approaches tradition through the lens of minimalism.

She has exhibited her work extensively in the United States and Asia, with exhibitions at Ross + Kramer gallery, East Hampton & NYC, Sens Gallery, Hong Kong; Uffner & Liu, NYC; Powerlong museum, Shanghai; LBF contemporary, London; Long story short gallery, Paris. Her work is in the permanent collection of Christian Dior under LVMH foundation. Most recently, Han has had her solo exhibition in New York City at Ross + Kramer, entitled Implosion.

Here, white is not decorative—it’s elemental. Each vessel holds the weight of craft and the lightness of form. Guided by designer Teruhiro Yanagihara, the brand’s pieces reflect a kind of thoughtful emptiness—designed to become meaningful through daily use.

INTERNATIONAL ARTIST COOPERATION

In Kan’s practice, floral fabric becomes a distinctive vocabulary of memory. Itis neither a mere decorative motif nor simply a cultural signifier, but rather a “visual comfort object” imbued with emotional weight—akin to the role of a comfort object in psychology, except that here the attachment shifts from the tactile to the purely visual. The fabric often originates from intimate and everyday sources: a grandmother’s dress, a childhood room, the tablecloth on a family dining table. Through cutting, collage, and reassembly, these fragments cease to be remnants of bygone times; instead, they generate new scenes and foreshadowing on the canvas, mirroring the transitions between different stages and spaces of life.

Color x Kai Ming Yang [Furniture]

[Painting] In the White space, her work turns stillness into touch.

New York–based artist Kai Ming Yang creates objects that explore the interplay of materials and forms, spanning furniture, lighting, and sculpture. His work emphasizes process, allowing material qualities to define both form and meaning, with aesthetics emerging as a natural outcome. His work has been presented internationally and across New York, including ICFF, galleries, and other design exhibitions.

Color x Lisa Sacco Lisa Sacco is a multi-disciplinary designer specializing in furniture and sensory objects. Experimentation and research underpin her design practice, which aims to foster material engagement and deepen our sensitivity to the world around us. Simple yet complete gestures serve as both encounters and confrontations within our system of design and use of everyday objects.

Color x Chang-Ching Su Founded in 2020, Studio Wenjüe Lu revives what is often overlooked in a fastmoving world: essence. Rooted in Daoist philosophy, their work draws from the quiet wisdom of natural fibers—cotton, silk, hemp, ramie—crafting garments that are meant to breathe, age, and endure. In this White space, their pieces echo stillness and ritual. Not made to be consumed, but to accompany; not designed to fade, but to be mended—again and again, into permanence.

White x Xiaotong Fu [Painting] Fu Xiaotong pierces handmade xuan paper with needles, creating images not by adding ink, but by shaping absence. Each piece is composed of thousands of tiny holes—carefully arranged through varied angles and pressure— transforming paper into a field of tension, softness, and quiet structure.

Chang-Ching “Casper” Su is a Taiwanese artist-researcher. His practice probes how power and authority shape contemporary sociopolitical systems, expressed through lens-based media, installation, and writing. He holds a BA in Political Science from National Taiwan University and an MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
