PAYING FOR YOUR EDUCATION

Sticker price: tuition + room & board

The starting price of college can feel daunting, but with scholarships and other assistance you won’t have to be as stressed about finances.

Scholarships & awards

First, we subtract scholarships (merit-based, named, and international student awards*). Academic scholarships are awarded at the time of admission and are based on information provided in your application.

Need-based aid

Next we subtract grants based upon the family financial situation. Limited need-based aid is available. Although Calvin awards generous financial aid to international students, families should be prepared to contribute at least $30,000 per year towards total expenses.

Actual cost: lifetime value

What we’re left with is the actual cost, often significantly less than the original sticker price. It is the amount left over after scholarships and grants have been applied.

With a global alumni network and a reputation for excellence around the world, your Calvin education will keep working for you long after you graduate.

*International students are automatically guaranteed at least $4,000 in renewable grants and awards. Learn more at calvin.edu/go/intl
