with Keynote Speaker Jason McClennen Mark your calendars for March 2nd at the Center for the Arts! Community creatives pitch 5 BIG public art ideas focused on the theme PLAY (with a $5,000 prize) using 5 slides in 5 minutes and with Keynote Speaker Jason McClennan. Considered one of the world’s most influential individuals in the field of architecture and the green building movement, Jason is a highly regarded designer, consultant and thought leader across the globe. Recipient of the Buckminster Fuller Prize (top prize for socially responsible design) he has been called the ‘Steve Jobs’ of the green building industry, a “World Changer” by GreenBiz magazine and has been selected as the Award of Excellence winner for Engineering News Record.

Coming in 2022: Summit Chair Community Connector 15 brightly painted, refurbished Snow King Summit chairs will be reinstalled as swings and benches, lining the Cache Street corridor from downtown to the summit of Snow King. This playful installation will invite community connection and give a bit of history – of Snow King and local Wyoming ski hills. The JH Historical Society & Museum is collaborating on stories, with the Town of Jackson and Chamber of Commerce also partnering on this joy-filled project. 15 local businesses (and counting) have pledged $2,500 sponsorships.

A Warm Farewell

to Alex Pope, JH Public Art Project Manager After almost three years working our public art programs, Alex is leaving to launch an art gallery at Dornans in Moose. Alex has provided JH Public Art with professional curation and incredible project management. We will miss her. We are actively seeking a new Project Manager who will be excited to help us embark on our next art adventures.

Let’s End 2021 with a Fundraising High! We have an audacious year-end fundraising goal of $100,000. We hope to make up the difference from a summer of few in-person art events and set a course for 2022. This year-end campaign supports both our operating budget and programs, and builds our capacity.
