Patch Project & Open Studio

Community Artists: Griffin Miller, Ava Reynolds, Lisa Walker, Cara O’Connor

Patch It, Don’t Trash It! Over seven weeks this summer, we worked with our community to carve blocks and screenprint original designs from local artists onto patches made from recycled textiles from ISWR and donated Stio samples. Open to all, this upcycling project also included open-studio nights of sewing and embroidery instruction to embellish recycled clothes. We distributed hundreds of creative patches and upcycled clothing at People’s Markets for free, raising awareness of ISWR’s textile recycling program.

Cardboard Fort Project

Community Artist: Winter Heaton

One student’s thank you note said, “I had so much fun. My favorite part was everything.”
