King’s history through playful community seating
Partners include Snow King Resort, Town of Jackson, Snow King Recreation Management Association, Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, Bank of Jackson Hole, and 30 community sponsors.
Square to Summit is a placekeeping project with 25 lift chairs, donated by Snow King, repurposed into colorful benches and swings to build a walking corridor from downtown Jackson to the top of Snow King. The Jackson Hole Historical Society assisted in the creation of informational plaques near various chairs that feature historical photographs and stories about skiing in the region. Plaques are sponsored by the Wyoming Humanities Council and the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund.
WildWalls 2023 conservation organizations and artists transform downtown walls
Explore the outdoor gallery of WildWalls to discover the vital role that pollinators play in our ecosystem. Some WildWalls murals are paired with augmented reality animations, based on data provided by scientists working in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

Experiential sculpture transforms your view of the world
The Compound Camera is an immersive dome made of 109 inflatable pinhole cameras that each cast a live projection of the surrounding environment. Together they create a stunning tessellated panorama likened to standing inside the eye of a fly. Visitors were encouraged to touch the textile walls to adjust the focal range of the image just as our own eyes relax and contract to focus.

Created by Wind River artist Colleen Friday, in collaboration with Arapahoe School educator Adrienne Vetter and Arapahoe School grades 5 and 7, the Garaman Underpass mural represents the Arapaho lifeway of 4 hills of life (yeneini3i’ 3o3outei’i). Thank you to everyone who helped us launch the Catalyst Fund and meet our match challenge! $50,000 in gifts from generous donors were matched dollar for dollar.
The Catalyst Fund will provide support and flexibility when exceptional public art opportunities arise by seeding significant future projects or matching funds to close budget gaps on nearly-funded projects. The Catalyst Fund will also help JH Public Art become more sustainable in the future.

Peggy Davenport has made a monumental impact through her work with JH Public Art since 2017. With her leadership, we launched the Catalyst Fund, increased our reach through Old Bill’s, and strengthened community visibility of and support for public art. We developed and put DEI goals into practice, passed a Town of Jackson % For Art Ordinance, installed Mama Mimi, added augmented reality to murals, and enhanced board practices. Thanks to Peggy’s dedication and support, JH Public Art’s foundation, vision, and momentum have never been stronger. We are grateful for all Peggy has contributed to our organization and and wish her all the best in her next endeavors!
