danish viking settlements : architectural interpretation

Emulating the feeling of entering a Viking settlement, users are engulfed by the land as they enter. entering “the mound”

circle to linear journey

The building shares a similar journey to a settlement as visitors would enter in a circular motion as the building is rectilinear.

Building mass hovers lightly over existing mounds.

Ends are extended to create circular entry.

As the Viking’s mound served as a protective lookout over the water, our building will provide the same view. reaching view of sea

Layers indicating security levels are terraced to increase sun exposure.

Ends are manipulated to create movement.

DALLAS

MUSEUM OF CONSPIRACY THEORY

CONSPIRACY. The word that has sparked the wildest of ideas for events we have had in history. To take grains of the truth and intruguing thoughts to feed into emotion for believers. Our world is fascinated by questioning what we know is reality. Was the moon landing real? Is the earth flat? What happened on 9/11? Why not make a museum for It? In the heart of Dallas’art District, this museum holds attraction to journey through these theories and create your own narrative.

KAPILA SILVA

“Create an experience that embodies a mystery.” Conspiracy theories invoke fear, mystery, confusion, to mind to objectively display information about known theories as more of a journey of investigation conspiracy theory : architectural interpretation

the “maze”

The experience is to explore the conspiracy theories with open ended beliefs. A maze of pathways leads the visitors through a journey to narrative their own beliefs of the theories.

incline & decline

The up & down movement of the gallery spaces emmulate the journey that sceptics go on when researching a theory.

confusion, and intrigue among the public. Five different elements came investigation and curiousity.

claustrophobia

High walls to create this enclosed, tight space to mimic the feeling of falling down a rabbit hole of hypotheticals.

isolated space

Enclosed by a pyramid-like glass structure, the “maze” strengthens this feeling of being trapped, too invested in the realities of these conspiracies.

PERSONAL WORKS

The foundation of my work comes from the freedom and ability to illustrate my surroundings. From my professors, the importance of a simple sketch can convey the experience you encounter with what you are designing. I desire to capture and experience the world through my art.
