INTRODUCTION OF MODI
Sandy Muskovitz Danto
SPOTLIGHT SPEAKER MODI

Modi Rosenfeld (known simply as Modi) has earned widespread acclaim for his gift for engaging audiences with his highenergy performances and cultural insights. A staple in New York’s vibrant comedy scene, Modi has been featured on HBO, Comedy Central, and E! Entertainment, and has received rave reviews from The New York Times.
Born in Tel Aviv, Modi immigrated to the U.S. at the age of seven and was raised on Long Island. He initially pursued a career in investment banking before discovering his true calling in stand-up comedy during an open-mic night. Known for his ability to read a room and tailor his material to any audience, Modi seamlessly weaves his Jewish heritage into his act.
At the core of Modi’s comedy is what he calls Moshiach Energy, a term he coined to describe the energy he feels in a room full of people from all different backgrounds and walks of life united in laughter. His goal is to bring that energy 24/7 through acts of kindness and by providing laughter or a smile wherever he goes.

Sandy Muskovitz Danto is a remarkable leader whose service and dedication to Jewish Family Service, the Detroit Jewish community, Israel, and around the world, have impacted so many. Her passion and commitment have taken many forms, including serving as president of the JFS Board for three years, co-chairing Jewish Federation of Detroit’s annual campaign, and, most recently, taking on the role of chair of the board of directors for the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies, an international membership association comprising more than 170 nonprofit human service organizations across the U.S., Canada, and Israel. Sandy’s compassion, warmth, and wisdom continue to create meaningful change to inspire us all.

Reva Stocker was an active member of the Detroit Jewish community and a fierce advocate in promoting strong, healthy families and preventing domestic abuse. She supported the JFS Windows program, which established the agency’s domestic abuse intervention and prevention services, along with an endowment in 1994 for the Reva Stocker Lecture Series for educational programs on the significant issues impacting families today.
Jewish Family Service is proud to honor Reva Stocker’s legacy and commitment to enriching the lives of others through this important lecture series.

Since 1928, Jewish Family Service has served as the heart of a stronger community, providing services to thousands of individuals and families annually. JFS assists community members struggling with life’s challenges through services such as geriatric care management, counseling, basic needs assistance, transportation, and so much more. With a unique ability to meet unexpected needs, JFS ensures that members of the community are served with excellence and compassion.

On March 12, our community was attacked. Jewish Family Service was here to help. Here is how we supported Temple Israel and the greater community.

On March 12, JFS’ Crisis Response Team responded immediately to Shenandoah Country Club and the J, assisting over 100 people.
We supported 290 individuals and their loved ones over the following three days at the FBI’s Family Assistance Center at The J.
JFS provided four days of drop-in hours at our office to help anyone who was impacted.

We provided 1:1 interventions to over 40 people in the first four days after the attack.
Over 50 JFS staff members provided crisis response services through direct interventions and indirect coordination assistance.
We have provided 40 group interventions supporting 15 Jewish organizations.
In total, 1,458 people were served by the JFS Crisis Response Team. We remain committed to offering support and resources for as long as they are needed.
(as of 5.11.26)
