Partnerships play a significant role in the work that we do and the success of the organization. Whether through grants; donations of funds, food, and supplies; or volunteering their time—partners make a lasting impact.

For more than four decades, Elaine and Max Appel have been dedicated to working with JFS and transforming lives throughout our community through financial contributions, including making a generous gift to support JFS’s 150th anniversary.

“Being a senior citizen, I am aware of the help they extend to the older population who often feel abandoned and lonely or who just need $100 to pay the rest of the rent,” said Max. “My parents immigrated from Ukraine in the 1920s. Had they known about JFS, their settlement in the United States probably would have been much easier.”

The couple’s investment in JFS extends to being members of our Legacy Society, a dedicated group of people who provide continued support and a commitment to help shape JFS today and in the future with their planned gift.

Partners like Elaine and Max Appel make JFS one of Colorado’s most impactful human service agencies. Together, we are making the greatest impact for the greater good.
