Artza to the Land The Jewish Community Center is sponsoring Artza "96, a teen Israel experience open to all Jewish teenagers currently in 9th through 11th grades. This trip is from July 7 to Aug. 4,1996. Participants will share eKperiences ranging from dawn at Masada to the Red Sea. They will climb through a waterfall built by Hexelaah, walk on top of the walls of Jerusalem, explore the old city and help excavate the ruins of a thousand years ago. "We will swim in four different seas and raft down the Jordan River; experience an overnight in a Bedouin camp.* Anne Broder, committee chairman, said 'This trip will only be offered once during a teenagers high school years.' The trip is open to 60 Omaha teens at a cost of $1,996 per person. It includes round-trip air fare from Omaha to Tel Aviv, private guides, bus drivers, medics, counselors, meals , local programs, entrance fees and accommodations. Scholar-in-residence Artist, teacher and performer Don T. Maseng will be Temple Israel's Scholar-in-Residence, Nov. 10, 11 and 12. Mr. Maseng will share ways to enrich a Shabbat experience.
