An open letter to the Omaha Jewish community about a crisis: Th*" 1979 combined campaign has fallen siwri of Its goal of $1.8(10.000 by more than (200,000, moiv than (40.000 less than last year's final figure of (1,660,000! Where is the problem? There are a number Some of! • largest contributors have pasaed away, or moved out of town, < longer In a financial position to give in the same large anuMints they used to give H) generously Some people have had business reverses, major medical expenses, or faced other crises SOMF PEOPLE HAVE NOT MADE ANY PLEDGE AT ALL IN 1979 SOME NEVER PLEDGE TO THE CAM PAIGN, YEAR AFTER YEAR

AND YET. ESSENTIALLY EVERY EAMH^Y IN OMAHA IS THE RECIPIENT OF FEDERATION SERVICES! 1 Every family receives a weekly copy of the Jewish Press, a service supported by campaign funds! 2 Federation support is given to programs for pre-schoolers to senior citizens. Jewish education throuRh the day school, .synagogue schools and adult education programs' 3 The resettlement program of Russian families in Omaha is largely supported by campaign funds through the Jewish Family Service 4 The Jewish Community Center (and the Health Club) lo which many families belong is the recipient of a number of campaign dollars Yes. in some way EVERY family. EVERY individual is a benefactor of services supported by funds raised by our combined campaign If you have not already made a pledge this year won't you please fill out the form at the end of this letter indicating the best pledge you can give and mail it In today. In the truest sense of "Txedakah" as Jews know it, share in our community effort to keep ' ilive and viable!
