Due to the Memorial Day holiday May 29, the Jewish Press will observe early deadlines for the issue of June 2. Deadline for news copy for that issue will be noon, Thursday, May 25; advertising deadline will be noon, Friday, May 26.
Community Celebration Planned For Israel's 30th Birthday "Free birthday cake (or the kids with a Afogen David on each piece are among the extras to be given away on Sunday as part of the Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration," said Stanley Mitchell, co-coordinator. "We have added many dimensions to the celebration. I am really excited about having been part of the planning," commented Randi Katelman another coordinator.
Dr. Norm Sheldon, coordinator of the carnival on Sunday, May 14, said the festivities, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. rain or shine, will include free samples, amusement rides, game booths and more.
There will be a scroll In the front lobby of the JCC for everyone to sign, thereby sending greetings to Israel. Display cases will contain a .variety of products made in Israel: glass, a solid olivewood
