• Omaha—"The excitement in the community about the prospects of a new Jewish Comttiunity Center can be felt in each of the sub-committees of the P l a n n i n g Committee," Charles Monasee, chairman of the Planning Committee, said this week. - "I. am tremendously Impressed with the response we nave had in forming our study Committees. Many people from all walks of life have volunteered their services. I am pleased to report that some 200 people, representing 'all ages and segments of the Jewish community, are serving on these c o m m i t t e e s . We are about one third of the way through the study process," ' Mr. Monasee said. : Six sub-committees have been studying the needs in specific areas. The sub-commit. fees have been meeting regularly and studying what is be.tng done In other Jewish Centers, hearing suggestions, and trying to determine the physi, cal requirements, operating costs and staff requirements for suggested programs for tha new Center. Following the p r c liminary Studies being made by-the subcommittees, each sub-committee will hold an open meeting for the community at large to * discuss plans. "In this way,"' said Mr. Monasee, "we hope to get total community participation in the planning for the new Center. Every member of the community will have an opportunity to make his wishes known at the Open Meetings. We hope to hold these meetIngs early in May," Mr. Monasee said. He said Secretary of State William P. Rogers had "no present plans" to visit the Middle East. But he acknowledged that Rogers would be in Ankara, Turkey on April 29 for a meeting of CENTO. In Jerusalem, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Secretary Rogers may visit Is-
rael and other Middle,Eastern countries in the near future. He said Rogers would probably be accompanied by Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Joseph J. Sisco who is scheduled to visit Turkey in May.

Mobil Oil Corporation Recinds 'Boycott Orders1 to Shippers
N.Y.—The Mobil Oil Corpor' ation has rescinded all instructions to its tanker fleet suppliers which had the effect of capitulating to the Arab economic boycott of Israel. In an exchange of correspondence between H e r m a n J. Schmidt, executive -vice president of the Mobil Oil Corpora- tion, and Arnold Forstcr, chairman of the Anti-Boycott Committee - of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the company declared that "effective Immediately" suppliers' "only considerations in s u p p l y i n g products to our ships arc that these products meet our traditionally high requirements of quality, availability and reasonableness of cost." Arms Washington (JTA)—Reports emanating from Cairo that the United States" had used the tactic of withholding arms deliveries" to get Israel to return to the Jarring talks last December were discounted by a State Department spokesman. Tho spokesman, Charles Bray, also dismissed a Cairo report that tho U.S. had assured Egypt that Israel would not .be permitted to retain East Jerusalem. The report on arms, deliveries was attributed by Cairo to remarks allegedly made in Israel by that country's Ambassador to Washington, Yitzhak Rabin. "I wouldn't want to

Omaha Group Gives Treasury to Israel Omaha—The entire treasury of an organization of Omaha Jewish physicians, dentists and, pharmacists, was donated this week to the Israel Emergency Fund Campaign. Dr. Maurice Sachs, president of the organization which for many years served as the Med> ical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Advisory Board of the Oma? ha, Jewish Federation, cited tho critical needs in Israel as the reason for the contribution. "It was our feeling," said Dr. Sachs, "that the tremendous needs in Israel this year war* ranted our treasury being used for this purpose." > Dr. H. S.
