15 Alleged Washington (JTA) — Secretary of State William P. Rogers called for an end to the mass executions of Iraqi citizens for allegedly spying for the United States and Israel. Steven Riekes to Head Jewish Culture Council Steven J. Riekes has been named chairman of the Jewish Culture C o u n c i l , S. Elmer Gross, Jewish Federation president announced this week. "The purpose of the Council," said Mr. Gross, "will be to conduct a community-wide program of Jewish lectures and concerts, sponsored by the Jewish Federation jointly with J e w i s h organizations in the community. The "Council will consist of representatives of Jewish community, organizations interested in b r i n g i n g about a coordinated program of Jewish cultural activities." Mr. Riekes currently serves on the board of Beth El Synagogue as chairman of Adult Jewish Education. A member of the Omaha Jewish Federation Executive Committee, he also serves as vice-president of the Southwest Region, B'nai B'Tith District 6. A past prcsident of Cornhusker Lodge B'nai B'rith, he currently serves the lodge as chaplain and chairman of the A d u l t Education committee. Target of Bomb London (JTA) — 'Scotland Yard is investigating an explosion in the passenger offices of the Israel Government-owned Zim Israel Navigation Co. A Woman clerk, Rachel Picker, was slightly injured when what, police described as a homemade bomb stuffed under a carpet, went off while most of the staff was out to lunch. The clerk was treated for leg injuries at Middlesex Hospital. Police said that two hours after the explosion in the Zim Lines o f f i c e, an anonymous telephone caller w a r n e d the staff at Jewish Agency headquarters in London that a bomb had been placed in the building.
