Miss Marjorie Frieden of Los Angeles has departed for Omaha, Neb., where she will visit with,, friends before returning to California. She was accompanied to Omaha-by Miss Louise Herzoff.

Funeral services for Louis'. Lavine, 79,-220 South Howard street, were held Sunday from the family residence. Mr. Lavine died Friday night in his home, after an illness of six months. ^ He-had been a resident of Sioux City for 35 years. He was born in Russia, and lived in St. Joseph, Mo. and Omaha, Nebr., before coming to Sioux City to make his home.

He is survived by six sons, -Ralph, Charles, Morris and Julius, of Sioux City; George,: of Omaha, and Jack, of St. Paul, Minn., and three daughters, 'Mrs. C. Garlock, Grand Rapids, Minn.; Ethel Lavine, Spokane, Wash., and Esther Lavine, of Sioux City.
