The frontiers of Roumania meet here those of Poland and Czechoslovakia, and a Roumanian regiment of frontier guards is stationed in the district. Relations between the soldiers and the rest of the inhabitants have always been smooth, often friendly, and the soldiers are able to supplement their meager army rations occasionally with a gift of dairy products from the farmers.
