Omaha Jewry Celebra the Signing of Mandate for National Homeland Speakers Voice Thanksgiving That Palestine Restored as Homeland. : OVER THREE THOUSAND PEOPLE ATTENDED MEETING. Over 3000 people attended a meeting at the Auditorium Sunday afternoon in a joint celebration of the formal approval by the United States congress' and the council of the league of ^nations of ±he British .mandate restoring Palestine as the homeland for the Jew. . , ' . The meeting Sunday, is part of a series of meetings being held throughout the world celebrating the ratification of the mandate. The Jews not only rejoiced over the occasion Sunday, but offered thanks to those responsible for the restoration of their homeland. The principle speakers at the meeting "were Professor S. A. Hoffman of Chicago and Governor Samuel R. MeKelvie. The program also consisted of music furnished by the Fort Crook military band, vocal selections and remarks by Harry H. Lapidus, chairman of the meeting and celebration committee. No stigma of "double allegiance" can apply to American Jews who espouse the Zionist cause, Harry H. Warsaw. • (J. T. A.)—The creation of the bloc of the minorities in Poland in order to r co-operate: during the coming selections has met -with incredulous surprise among Polish politicians. The bloc is confident of obtaining 80 seats in the Sejm out of a total of 405, and, 20 in the Senate out of a total of/110. The Jews expect to obtain a third, and believe that 30 Jewish representatives will enter the new Polish- Parliament.

The Labor-Lyceum of Omaha will hold a public meeting and entertainment Sunday in'' their new building at Twenty-second and Clark Streets. During the afternoon, there will be several prominent, speakers, one of whom will come from the Workman's Circle headquarters in New York City. The afternoon's meeting will begin at 3 o'clock. During the evening there will be a musical concert. The meeting to be held Sunday is •open to the entire public, as is also the musical entertainment which will be held during the evening.
