by MARY BORT Jewish Federation of Omaha Foundation Jeffrey Kirshenbaum has been named President of the Murray H. and Sharee C. Newman Supporting Foundation Board of Trustees. He replaces outgoing President Susie Noddle, who will continue to serve as a Trustee. “Sharee joins me in congratulating Jeff as the new President of the Murray H. and Sharee C. Newman Supporting Foundation,” stated Murray Newman. “Jeff has demonstrated over many years, and through involvement in a number of Federation activities and its Agencies, his insight, intellect and sensitivity to the community’s needs. His perspective and knowledge have been invaluable to our Trustees during our grant deliberations. Jeff is the perfect person to lead the Foundation in the years to come.” Newman continued, “Sharee and I want to thank Susie Noddle, retiring President, for her years of service. Her father, Harlan Noddle, was the first President of the Foundation and served from 1987 until his death in 2006. Susie was Sharee’s and my suggestion to serve in Harlan’s place. Susie now resides full-time in New York City. We thank Susie for her dedicated service to the Foundation, carrying on beautifully the legacy left by our beloved Harlan.” The Newman Supporting Foundation was established in
1987 with an initial gift of $100,000 from Sharee and Murray Newman. The Board of Trustees includes Kirshenbaum, Noddle, Sharee Newman, Lisa Lewis, Jamie
Jeff Kirshenbaum Friedland, Jay Lerner and Murray Newman. Born and raised in Omaha, Kirshenbaum is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Vice-President at Noddle Companies. Kirshenbaum and his wife, Sharon, have two daughters, Alyssa and Lauren. A former President of the Jewish Community Center, Kirshenbaum serves on the Jewish Social Services and Anti-Defamation League boards. He also is on the board for Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Kirshenbaum previously served on Beth El Synagogue’s board of directors. Continued on page 2
