The Aussie Gourmet: Tortellini and Meat Sauce
In The K tchen Tortellini and Meat Sauce
This is one of my all-time favorite, quick-and-easy, go-to meals. This tortellini and meat sauce can be prepped in a flash and cooked in 20 minutes from start to finish.
Ingredients 1 package NY Pasta Authority Tomato Tortellini 2 lb. ground beef 2 large onions, diced 1 jar Gefen Pasta Sauce 1-2 teaspoons kosher salt 1 tablespoon oil
Preparation
Heat oil in a large frying pan. Add diced onions, stirring frequently until they become slightly translucent. Add kosher salt to taste and stir.
While onions are sautéing, bring a large pot of water to boil. Cook tortellini according to package directions. Drain when done and set aside.
Once onions are sweating, add ground beef to the pan a little at a time, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Allow the meat to begin to brown before adding more. Cook about 10 minutes, stirring to make sure the meat browns on all sides. Once meat is cooked, add pasta sauce to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
Add drained tortellini and stir to combine. Let come to a boil and simmer for 5-10 minutes to reduce down.
