I Believe...
...that every small donation to the United Jewish Appeal campaign matters. The UJA keeps our community going at Talmud Torah. We know that somewhere between 30 to 35% of our families receive some element of bursary support from Federation. That’s obviously critical for our success.

...that United Jewish Appeal is an investment in the community. Federation is helping everyone find their place in the community. It’s what a thriving community needs. As a new board member, I appreciate that everyone around the table is thoughtful, dedicated, and fiscally prudent.

...that Federation’s cultural programs, like the Edmonton Jewish Film Festival and the They didn’tknowwewereseedsportrait exhibit at the Edmonton Public Library, make the Jewish Community visible and connected to the wider community. They make us part of the larger conversation.

...the Federation is the umbrella organization in our community and under this role, it provides important programming and other support. The Federation helps numerous organizations provide Jewish opportunities for people of all ages and of varied interests. The Federation stands up for the Jewish community and lobbies decision-makers to continue to enrich our lives in Edmonton, Alberta, and Canada.

...that the Federation does an amazing job of serving as our community’s voice. I’m so grateful that when an issue arises, Federation is there to act on our behalf. It is connected to the police, to Israel, to politicians. We need this representation.
- MOR BARZEL Psychologist + UJA donor... that the Jewish Federation of Edmonton provides opportunities to cement our Jewish identity by celebrating Jewish culture, providing education, and standing with me in the face of intolerance. Federation helps me to live a Jewish life with meaning and purpose. As a community member, I feel an obligation to contribute. We can’t take it for granted. I want my kids to know that the Federation is important to me, just as it was to my parents and grandparents.
- GARY WOLCH Physician + UJA DonorI Believe...
...that the Federation supports a multitude of programs within our Jewish community that are important to me and my family. Camp BB, JCC Maccabi Games and BBYO are enriched by the dollars that Federation raises through the United Jewish Appeal campaign. My family also deeply values supporting programs for the less fortunate or isolated in our community, such as the Jewish Seniors Citizens’ Centre and Jewish Family Services. These programs all count on funds raised through UJA.

...in Jewish Federation, which my family has supported, in its many iterations, for nearly 100 years. We have all seen the many successful programs that provide much-needed financial assistance to individuals, families, and organizations, and enrich our lives, and those around us. We are blessed to have so many individuals contribute funds each year to help others in need, promote culture, and provide education and advocacy for our tight-knit Jewish community.
- FARREL SHADLYN, KC Co-Chair, UJA Campaign + Lawyer + UJA donor...the Jewish Federation of Edmonton is central to my family’s sense of belonging and connection to an enriching Jewish life in Edmonton.
