Strategic funding leverages our collaborative human and financial resources to create maximum impact. By combining revenue streams from the 2018-2019 Campaign, Designated Funds and the Jewish Community Foundation's Unrestricted Funds, Restricted Special Purpose Funds, Annual Campaign Endowment (ACE) and Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) and Philanthropic Funds, over $12.3 Million will be distributed during the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

SUPPORTING ISRAEL & OVERSEAS Choosing Tomorrow La’ad Yehudit Ashriel was born in Hatvan, Hungary. After surviving the Holocaust, she moved to Israel in 1949. Today, Yehudit is 91 years old and living in Beer Sheva. Through the program, Choosing Tomorrow La’ad, Yehudit is visited by a young woman named Or once a week. She helps Yehudit with basic housework, making important phone calls, taking her out of the house and providing companionship. Yehudit says, “this program has fundamentally changed my daily life…at my age, after all I have been through in my life, I need someone to listen to me—to hear about the Holocaust but also about my daily life. When Or is with me, I feel like sharing more of my past and present. The very fact that Or asks me how I am doing … motivates me to go on each day.” Yehudit believes that it is her responsibility to tell the story of her experiences during the Holocaust to the next generation. Or has helped her adapt her story to various audiences and she continues to lecture in schools and welcomes groups to her home. Yehudit says, “in my eyes, Or gives me so much. But I truly believe that everyone who gives is also blessed to receive and I know that Or gets a lot from our time together as well. Or is a part of my family”.

Dental Volunteers for Israel

”

E is a Syrian Jew who arrived in Israel in 1978, with his extended family, after they were smuggled through Turkey. They were able to only bring the clothes on their backs, and trekked barefoot (for fear of being heard) for three weeks to Turkey, where they boarded a plane to Israel. Arriving in Israel was a homecoming for this family, but though they were ecstatic to be there, they struggled financially. There were many things they simply could not afford.

Thankfully, dental care was not one of the things they had to forgo.

Free dental care at DVI – Dental Volunteers for Israel - allowed them to treat long neglected problems with their teeth. Fast forward over a decade, E grew up and did his military service in an intelligence unit, where he gladly used his fluent Arabic to serve his new homeland. He married and had five children. Unfortunately, E’s wife was diagnosed with a serious illness that left her unable to work. E’s salary as a mini-market manager simply was not enough on its own to support his family or provide dental care for their five children. When a caseworker recommended he take the children to DVI for dental care, he remembered the services he and his family received there so many years earlier. E expresses his gratitude to DVI by volunteering as their handyman.

CARING FOR THE ELDERLY Nourish Now! Meals on Wheels Mrs. Silverstein, usually a very active and outgoing 71-year-old mother of four grown children and widow of a Vietnam veteran, was at a complete loss of how to care for herself after falling and fracturing her hip. She was confined to four to six months of bedrest and her children all lived far away. When the hospital social worker told her Meals on Wheels of South Florida could provide two weeks of home delivered, ready to eat Kosher meals through a program for newly discharged patients, she was thrilled. Her relief quickly turned to concern as she realized there was no possible way she could fix her own meals and had no back up plan. With more than a thousand people on the waiting list for home delivered meals, what could she do? That’s where the Nourish Now program stepped in. Funded through your Federation dollars, Nourish Now provides frail Jewish seniors in Broward County with home delivered meals they desperately need while they wait to reach the top of the very long waiting list to receive federally funded, home delivered meals. Because of those meals, Mrs. Silverstein can focus on healing, without worrying about how she will eat.

Daniel D. Cantor Senior Center At age 98, Stella has been an enthusiastic Cantor Center participant for 17 years. During her early years at the center, Stella was a vibrant and active participant in every program. She played Canasta and Mah Jong, and even led many discussions. During the past decade, however, Stella’s health has deteriorated, slowing her down and limiting her options for activities and socialization.

She has cancer, deals with high blood pressure, is confined to a wheelchair, and lives with a full-time aide. One thing has remained constant for her – the Daniel D. Cantor Senior Center. Stella’s daughter called to thank the center and explains that “no matter how tired or ill she feels in the morning, Stella forces herself to get up to get to the center.” Stella says, “they expect me at the Center and I don’t want to disappoint them.” You have to have a reason to want to go on living, forcing yourself to push through the pain of cancer and lost abilities, and the heartbreak of losing friends and loved ones as you outlive them. The Daniel D. Cantor Senior Center gives elderly seniors a reason to go on, and something to genuinely look forward to each day.

SERVING THOSE AT GREATEST RISK Kolot Kolot was contacted by an adult daughter inquiring about therapy for her mother, who was in a physically abusive relationship for 35 years. Both of her children grew up watching their father verbally and physically harm their mother, but have finally helped her escape this relationship. The client was able to get a permanent restraining order against her husband, which he violated twice. The client’s husband is now in jail and she received the help she needed through Kolot. Both the client and her daughter received counseling services and the client also received case management services in order to meet her needs.

Kolot was able to not only help the client, but also support the rest of the family’s needs. Today, the client has stabilized her situation and ensured her continued safety.

Jewish Children’s Village - JAFCO For the past ten years, Nikki and her brother have been raised in foster care at JAFCO’s Children’s Village because their mom cannot care for them due to addiction issues. JAFCO ensures that when the children’s mom is healthy, she is able to visit with them and maintain a positive and caring relationship. With help from her JAFCO therapist, Nikki understands that despite many challenges, her mother loves her very much. Nikki has excelled as a student and athlete at a local Jewish day school. Last summer, she received a scholarship to the summer program at University of Pennsylvania, her dream school, and hopes to one day study medicine. Additionally, Nikki was afforded the opportunity to attend overnight camp through a scholarship from Golden Slipper Camps. As Nikki prepares to attend college, JAFCO will continue to support and guide her every step of the way.

FOSTERING JEWISH IDENTITY B’nai Brith Youth Organization (BBYO)

Caroline Shrock is a local high school student and active BBYO member. Through BBYO, she has found her passion, built leadership skills and strengthened her connection to the Jewish community. Last summer, she attended BBYO’s International Leadership Training Conference, where she served as LEADS Day Captain. In this role, she was responsible for logistics and programing for 50 service sites. When she returned home, Caroline, who is treasurer of BBYO’s Gold Coast Region, created a fundraiser that raised over $5,000 for BBYO’s International Service Fund, which provides need-based scholarships to youth who otherwise could not afford to participate in BBYO and Jewish life, as well as other charitable assistance. She then helped her chapter counterparts create unique fundraisers in their own communities. Caroline has since been elected to BBYO’s International Board, where she will focus on globalization efforts and fundraising in the US and around the world. Watching Caroline’s growth and achievements, while still a high school student, demonstrates the incredible value of BBYO programming.

Maccabi Tzair is a branch of Maccabi World Union, a Jewish youth movement for all ages, which engages youth and young adults in Jewish culture and traditions, helping them find and strengthen their Jewish identity and connection to Israel. Sabrina is an 8th grade student and has participated in Maccabi Tzair for six years. She says that through the program, she has learned more than she ever has in any classroom. “Maccabi Tzair is more than just an organization that conducts activities on Saturday afternoons” said Sabrina. It is a movement that prides itself on teaching Jewish values and morals through informal education.

Sabrina was shocked by her ability to impact one child’s perspective on Judaism through a simple activity. Through Maccabi Tzair, she has found her voice to stand up for what she believes in and is determined to accomplish every goal she sets. Maccabi Tzair provided Sabrina with confidence in who she is and the values that are so essential to the person she has become. Sabrina says, “I have grown into a person I never thought I could become and I have learned skills that will help me as I go through college and my career.”

EMBRACING THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS Friendship Circle Sara came to Friendship Circle when she was seven years old. A beautiful young girl from a local Jewish family, she had low functioning Autism and was unable to speak or communicate her feelings or thoughts to her family and friends. It was extremely frustrating for both Sara and all who knew her. Over the years, advanced technologies have been developed that would help someone like Sara communicate with family, friends, and classmates. Her family, however, already struggling with the high costs of raising a child with special needs, found the cost of purchasing the equipment beyond their reach. Recently, the Friendship Circle decided to fundraise money to purchase Sara “SpeakMod,” a special tablet with evidence-based speech and language therapy applications for individuals with severe autism or developmental disabilities. From the moment Sara started using it, her life changed! She was finally able to express herself in a new and real way!

Recently, she posted on Facebook – “I want to make sure that every non-verbal child with Autism will have a voice like I do”. Friendship Circle provided a connection to Sara and her family to the community.

JAFCO Abilities Center “R” is a single mother of a child with complex medical issues.

When her mother became critically ill and R needed to visit, her son’s medical issues made it impossible for him to travel.

JAFCO’s Children’s Ability Center made the impossible, possible. The Ability Center quickly swung into action and with just a few hours’ notice, was able to arrange high-quality respite care for R’s son, allowing her to fly out to visit her ill mother. During his stay, JAFCO professionals ensured that he was comfortable and nurtured during his first stay away from home and his mother. He loved socializing with peers and participating in fitness, art, music, and playground activities. And for R it was a lifeline; that meant for once, she didn’t need to choose between her love for her son, and her love for her mother.

ADVOCACY SUPPORT COMMUNITY Grants, Special Purpose Funds, Philanthropic Funds and Supplemental Fund Disbursements - $2,444,804

Our Federation is about sustainability and purpose. Several named endowment funds make disbursements to beneficiary agencies and impact programs in support of communal initiatives such as immersive Israel experiences, aging and special need services, and emergency security and capital grants. The Jewish Community Foundation works with donors to be their center for philanthropy.

Fund holders make recommendations to a host of valid charitable organizations - Jewish and secular, local and global.

The Jewish Federation of Broward County is about strengthening and enabling community. We do this through direct service programs such as Chai Care; through strategic impact centers where we plan for the needs of the community; with engagement programs and through assistance programs such as mortgage payments made on behalf of several agencies related properties.

Federation Management and Fundraising Services (projected) - $2,325,629

Our Federation allocates resources that provide planning for critical community services and assists in building a strong Jewish community for the future. Management services include property oversight, community security, planning, allocation oversight, leadership development, accounting and grant assistance. Fundraising services are all aspects of the Federation operations that go into raising funds.

ADVOCACY Led by an active and engaged Government Affairs Committee, Federation develops and maintains relationships with elected officials at the County, State and Federal levels. We advocate for policies important to our Jewish community, including support for the special needs community, seniors and other vulnerable populations. In addition, our efforts help ensure continued public funding for Jewish communal institutions that improve the quality of life in Broward county.

DID YOU We guarantee the building loan for the Posnack Middle School building. And through payment of the mortgage on the Davie Jewish Community Campus we provide the land on which the David Posnack JCC and the Posnack School are housed at no cost to them.

RESPONDING TO EMERGENCIES In any given year, our community or communities around the globe may experience an unforseen crisis. Our Federation is prepared to react and provide whatever is needed, whether it’s funds, support, programs, services or leadership. Here is a list of some of the things we provided in 2017-18 in response to crisis:

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Provided critical training to first responders, psychologists, counselors, social workers, teachers and clergy - through the Israeli Trauma Coalition.

Provided counseling and support to survivors - through Goodman Jewish Family Services and Federation staff.

Offered our grieving community a way to stand together - through a Mitzvah project packing and delivering mishloach manot to Parkland and Coral Springs.

Security Strenghthened security at Broward’s Jewish school, synagogues, and community agencies. (Our Director of Security provided security analysis and recommendations, while our Director of Allocations, Grants and Governance provides assistance applying for Federal nonprofit grants for increased security in the form of strengthened fencing, gates, alarm systems, etc.)

Hurricane Irma

(In collaboration with United Way and Community Foundation of Broward) Provided housing for individuals left homeless by the storm.

Delivered meals, water and ice to seniors.

Transported survivors to triage centers.

Camp Scholarships | Soref JCC - $ 23,500: Childcare & Camp David Posnack JCC - $115,000: Summer camp withScholarships Jewish flavor |for preschoolers through 9th grade. Programs include Shabbat celebrations, Israel Scout Need based scholarships to attend the David Posnack JCC’s early childhood and camp, providing quality Friendship Caravan, Jewish crafts and cooking, Maccabi games, ceramics,learning sports, center computers, dance, etc. services and Jewish culture, beliefs and traditions.

Childcare & Camp Scholarships | David Posnack JCC - $115,000: Need based scholarships to attend the David Posnack JCC’s early childhood learning center and camp, providing quality services and Jewish culture, beliefs and traditions.

Choosing Tomorrow – La’ad - $21,000: Provides companionship and assistance to Holocaust survivors in Beer Sheva and Ashdod, by pairing them with trained university students through programming and recreational activities.

Community & Seniors Assistance | Goodman JFS - $460,000: Case management, advocacy, information and referral, and emergency financial assistance for Broward Jewish community members in crisis. Help for those forced to choose between eating or buying their medicine and paying the rent, etc.

Crisis Support for the Jewish Community in South America | American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) $35,000: Crisis support for vulnerable Jewish community members living in South America.

Dental care for needy IDF soldiers, vets, and their families | Dental Volunteers for Israel - $16,141: Volunteer dentists from 20 countries provide state-of-the-art dental care FREE of charge to Jerusalem’s neediest families and families of IDF soldiers.

Dentures for Holocaust Survivors and needy Elderly | Dental Volunteers for Israel - $20,000: Free dentures for Holocaust Survivors and other needy elderly adults in Jerusalem and surrounding areas.

Early Childhood & Camp Scholarships | Temple Beth Emet - $10,000: Scholarship assistance for young children to attend child care or camp at Temple Beth Emet. These scholarships foster connections between young Jewish families and the synagogue.

Employment on the Horizon - Vocational Training Program for Youngsters with Blindness and Visual Impairment | Ofek Liyladenu – Israel National Association of Parents of Children with Visual Impairments - $16,500: Vocational training and summer work experiences in Israel for blind and visually impaired teens, ages 14-16, preparing them for future employment.

Employment Program for Seniors | VeHadarta - $25,000: Program to help Israeli seniors (60 +) stay in or rejoin the workforce, to help provide income and self-esteem.

Empowering Ethiopian Community in Nesher | Nesher Community Center Network – Corporation for educational and cultural institutions in Nesher - $16,500: Programming for Ethiopian-Israeli children, teens, and seniors. Cultural and leisure activities with community integration focus.

Ethiopian-Musical class, teen soccer, cooking workshop/nutrition awareness, daily meals.

Emtza | NCSY - $25,000: Immersive experiences to Jewish middle school students to strengthen connections with Judaism and Israel.

Equal In Uniform | Akim - $15,000: For most Israeli citizens, service in the IDF is a foundational experience. AKIM allows Israeli young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to serve in the IDF within the limits of their abilities, in positions tailored to their unique needs. This builds self-esteem and a sense of belonging, and is often a first step to future employment.

Ethiopian-Israeli Scholarship Program - $30,000: Full three-year college tuition for needy Ethiopian college students following the completion of IDF service, at IDC (Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.) Nine extremely talented Ethiopian students are currently benefiting, setting an example for many more to follow.

Friendship Circle | Friendship Circles of South Broward, North Broward & South Palm Beach Counties - $25,000: Friendship Circle pairs enthusiastic teenage volunteers with children & teens who have special needs, providing opportunities to play and socialize while giving parents much-needed respite, and brings participants together for family programs and special events.

Giborim U | David Posnack JCC - $30,000: Year round program for children, teens and adults with special needs, providing courses in fitness, arts, sports, recreation, life skills and health and wellness. Funding supports life skills classes.

Hot Meals for Holocaust Survivors and Vulnerable Seniors| Leket Israel - $20,000: Over 900 vulnerable seniors in seven cities (Be’er Sheva, Lod, Jerusalem, Rehovot, Ramle, Rishon Lezion, and Tel Aviv) receive a daily hot meal through this program.

Indigent Burial - $15,504: These funds ensure that impoverished Jews in Broward County without family to assist them receive a Jewish burial.

Israel Awareness Month in Broward County | Hillel of Broward & Palm Beach - $5,000: Funding supports Israeli Awareness month on local college campuses, including educational, cultural, Shabbat and Israel advocacy programs.

Israel Engagement Coordinator | Hillel of Broward & Palm Beach - $20,000: Support for an Israel Engagement Coordinator to recruit and provide critical follow-up for Birthright participants, maximizing the long-term impact of the program in our community.

Israel Experience Need Based Scholarship - $65,000: Need based scholarships for Jewish Broward County high school students to participate in 3-8 week long educational programs in Israel.

Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) - $571,679: Overseas Support for critical programs in Israel and in more than 75 countries around the world through our overseas partners - American-Jewish Joint Distribution, Committee (JDC), Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and World ORT. Jewish Student Union | NCSY - $25,000: Jewish cultural clubs located in public and private high schools designed to strengthen Jewish identity, connections to Israel and connection to our local Jewish community.

Joshua’s Path | Goodman Jewish Family Services - $25,000: Information and referral services, workshops, case management for families and caregivers of adults (18+) disabilities and access to new web based resources.

Kolot | Goodman Jewish Family Services - $5,000: Assistance for Jewish survivors of domestic abuse (counseling, access to resources, financial assistance, and counseling) and teen workshops to help prevent future generations from experiencing abuse.

Ma aleh Adumim Senior Citizens and Holocaust Survivors Program | Bnai Zion Foundation - $42,500: Each day 700 Ma aleh Adumim seniors attend classes, participate in arts and crafts, and receive language instruction (English, French, Spanish, Russian, and Amharic). Special programs and assistance is provided for those with physical and psychological disabilities.

Maccabi Tzair | David Posnack JCC - $22,000: This Jewish youth movement primarily serves Broward’s Latino youth ages 5 to 18. The movement focuses on Jewish identity, Zionism and leadership skills, through educational and recreational activities, field trips, and Jewish holiday celebrations, and provides Spanish language programming for families.

March of the Living | Jewish Federation of Broward County: $57,200: Scholarships to enable Broward Jewish teens to participate in the International March of the Living. The March is an annual educational program, bringing teens and adults from around the world to Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred.

Meals for Residential Center | JAFCO Jewish Children’s Village - $45,000: Funding provides kosher meals for children ages of 6-21, living in JAFCO group homes, having been removed from their families due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.

Mofet Club for Holocaust Survivors - Nesher Association for the Elderly - $16,000: Funding to upgrade and replace chairs, tables, sofas, kitchen utensils, and air conditioning facilities at Mofet Club for Holocaust Survivors in Nesher, our Partnership2gether City.

Moishe House | Partnership with Jewish Federation of Broward County - $27,500: Unique engagement tool for Jewish young adults. 4-5 carefully chosen, vibrant, Jewishly-involved young (20 something) adults to live in our local Moishe House (as part of a network of 100+ Moishe Houses around the world) and host events and activities (including Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, social action projects & group learning sessions) that bring together and connect Jewish young adults.

Musical Dreams for Blind and Visually Impaired Children | Ofek Liyladenu – Israel National Association of Parents of Children with Visual Impairments - $15,000: Weekly music lessons for blind children (ages 6-18) in Israel that enhance their sensory, emotional and social development; plus workshops for music teachers to help them learn the best methods for instructing blind children.

Nesher Partnership | Partnership2Gether (Jewish Agency for Israel) – $92,000: This Program fosters a living bridge from Nesher, Israel to Broward County through exchange volunteering programs, Nesher Teen delegations, school twinning and more.

Nirim in the Neighborhoods | Nesher Municipality - $7,300: This program provides support to at-risk 13 to 16 year olds in Nesher to help keep them in school, reduce delinquency and truancy, and move participants towards IDF service and eventual full integration in society.

Nourish Now | Meals on Wheels of South Florida - $85,000: Our funds pay to have meals delivered to frail, homebound, at-risk Jewish seniors in Broward County while they are on the Meals on Wheels waiting list (currently 1000+ seniors long), so that they begin to receive meals immediately.

One Happy Camper | Jewish Federation of Broward County - $94,750: One Happy Camper provides incentive grants and scholarships of $1,000 grants to Jewish families who send their children to a Jewish Camp for the first time, to encourage them to choose Jewish camps. We also provide need based assistance for families who need additional help to send their child(ren) to Jewish camp.

Orloff Department of Jewish Education & Engagement | Jewish Federation of Broward County - $50,000: Provides in-house professional development for Jewish educators, strengthen the quality of Jewish Education in Broward County and allows Jewish Educators to participate in outside professional development opportunities.

Peer Engagement | Hillel International - $30,000: Nearly 1 in 8 Jewish college students in the U.S. attend school in Florida. Through Hillel International, we support programs that strengthen Jewish identity on Florida campuses. We ensure that there is an infrastructure in place that will allow students to engage in Jewish community.

PJ Library | Jewish Federation of Broward County - $20,000: PJ Library brings books with Jewish themes to Jewish children in Broward County aged 6 months through 8 years old, and through PJ Our Way, to children 9 through 11. Programming is also provided to build a greater sense of community.

Preschool Scholarships | Soref Jewish Community Center - $135,000: Funding provides scholarships for low and moderate income Jewish families with children (3 months to 5 years old) to attend the Jewishly oriented preschool at Soref JCC allowing parents to work and children to be well cared for while building a connection to the Jewish community.

Resilience Program for the Elderly | H’amuta Lekidum Toshevei Hevel Eshkol - $50,000: Funding enables elderly adults in the Eshkol region - an isolated area near the Gaza border, which has been exposed to long periods of constant missile fire – to attend a senior center. Programs help seniors deal with the stress of the situation, reduce isolation, and assist with memory improvement.

Senior Center | Daniel D. Cantor Senior Center - $86,849: More than 450 seniors participate in activities and programming that includes Jewish holiday celebrations, lectures, daily exercise classes, card games, discussion groups, current event updates, movies and entertainment, along with a kosher meal.

Senior Collaborative Of Friendship Circles | Chabad Pembroke Pines - 18,000: Supports Jewish seniors at Century Village Pembroke Pines with a range of social services designed to reduce isolation and ensure social and emotional support.

Shairut Leumi | Partnership2Gether (Jewish Agency for Israel) - $7,667: Shairut Leumi is a national alternative service for those who are unable to serve in the IDF. Our funds allow Nesher to have a Shairut Leumi volunteer 5 days a week to help with the partnership program activities, marketing and logistics, while providing volunteers with experiences to help gain future employment.

South Florida Jewish Academy - $37,500: State-of-the-art school providing a Jewish education for children with special needs in grades K – 12. Our funds provide need based scholarships.

Spectrum Tech | United Community Options of South Florida - 22,000: This new program will provide training and employment opportunities in software testing, quality assurance and data analysis, for adults on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. Our funding will provide scholarships to members of the Broward Jewish community.

Student Awareness Day | Holocaust Documentation & Education Center - $20,000: Student Awareness Day brings 1,200 Broward County students together to learn from Holocaust Survivors, Liberators and other speakers to learn about the horrors of the Holocaust and its revelance to their everyday lives.

Summer Camp in Dnepropetrovsk | Jewish Agency For Israel (JAFI) - $15,000: Summer Camp in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, promotes Jewish literacy through exploration of Jewish traditions and history, teaches about historical and contemporary Israel, Hebrew, Jewish identity and community to Jewish youth in the Ukraine.

Support of Day Schools – $250,000: Our funding supports scholarships and programming to strengthen education, at accredited Jewish day schools in Broward County, including: Brauser Maimonides Academy, Posnack Jewish Day School, Hebrew Academy Community School of Margate, Beth Emet Elementary School and the Jewish Academy.

Ten Kavod | Hatzalah - $28,500: Ten Kavod, meaning “Give Respect,” is a program designed to provide regular medical checkups to elderly Israelis who live alone, with a special focus on Holocaust survivors. Volunteers receive specialized training in geriatric care, then visit seniors twice a week, taking vital signs, following up on illnesses, checking to see if medication or extra care is needed, and socializing.

The Cupboard | Goodman Jewish Family Services - $5,000: Our funds pay for a van at this kosher food pantry, so that food can be picked up and delivered to impoverished members of our Broward Jewish Community.

The Living Room Program | Daniel D. Cantor Senior Center - $ 20,000: Program for seniors who, due to diminishing abilities, are no longer able to thrive in a general senior center, but are not yet ready for adult day care services. Tailored to individual participants needs, this program offers songs, games, Jewish holiday celebrations, kosher food, companionship and more.

Warm a Soldier’s Heart | Nesher Municipality - $9,285: Provides Nesher teens with backpacks filled with items they can use during their IDF service upon high school graduation.

Warm Corner Project | Yasher Lachayal - $22,000: Assists impoverished families of Israeli soldiers by providing food packages, supermarket credit, electric appliances and basic necessities.

WECARE Food Pantry- $45,000: The food pantry at Soref JCC, provides food to individuals or families who are in desperate need. Last year WECARE provided 3,200 bags of free, non-perishable groceries, fruits and vegetables to members of our community, serving almost 10,000 people. Kosher food is available. The pantry also loans free medical equipment including wheelchairs, walkers and canes.

Working with Sexually Abused Soldiers | ELI: Israel Association for Child Protection in partnership with the IDF $25,000: ELI provides high quality therapy to IDF soldiers who have been sexually abused at any point of their life. ELI additionally prepares and accompanies victims through the criminal process.

Youth At-Risk | Nesher Municipality - $20,000: This program pairs Technion and Haifa University students with at-risk teens in Nesher, for mentorship, assistance with schoolwork and guidance and support that encourages the teens to remain in school through graduation and join the IDF.
