A Message from our Jewish Federation’s Board Chair

Dear Friends:

My name is Alan Cohn, and I am the current Board Chair at the Jewish Federation of Broward County and a partner at Greenspoon Marder LLP. I believe that in order to sustain this Broward community - each person should be an individual contributor and have their company or business involved. For professional, corporate and entrepreneurial women who are working full-time or have ten years of full-time work experience. WEC members focus on helping one another in networking, developing businesses with the over-arching goal of giving back to the community. WEC often partners with YLD and B&P to host events and offer mentorship opportunities.

(YLD) HORIZONS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM & YOUNG LEADERSHIP DIVISION

Horizons Leadership Program (ages 22-40) is a 10-course program focusing on team-building, leadership-training, problem-solving and learning about the role of the Jewish

Federation and its leaders in the community, as well as challenges facing Jewish communities here and abroad. Upon graduating, these young leaders can advance to be part of the YLD Board and other committees of the Federation. Meanwhile, the Young Leadership Division(YLD) offers a variety of social, educational and mitzvah activities organized each month.

IMPACT TEAMS

One of the most meaningful ways to contribute your leadership and expertise to impact the community. Each impact team has a specific funding area for which they are responsible. Each team meets during the year to evaluate current grants & funding, research future needs, submit requests for proposals to agencies and organizations based on impact team goals, and determine which programs are funded and at what level.
