Dear Friend, Donors like you are changing lives each and every day, year after year. Through the Jewish Alliance 2018 Annual Campaign, we influence the future here in Rhode Island, in Israel, and around the world. This is only possible thanks to the generosity of the people listed in this report. 2018 proved to be a year of change. In order for anything to survive and grow, it must evolve and adjust. Our organization has been a proven success for more than 70 years, attributable in large part to the ways in which we have pivoted, adapted, and led during the last seven decades. This year we embarked on a new strategic plan, began to re-examine our allocations process, and distributed security grants to agencies and synagogues for the first time. We are working on many other new initiatives that will be implemented in the coming year. Recognizing that the Jewish landscape in Rhode Island and around the world continues to evolve, the Alliance is embracing opportunities to transform and adapt to today’s realities. Everything that is central to the Alliance’s mission has not and will not change. Raising funds, building Jewish community, and strengthening Jewish identity are quintessential to our community impact and responsibility. However, the ways in which we carry out our mission are fluid and will continue to keep pace with the ever changing landscape of Jewish life. 2018 Secure Community Campaign Honor Roll

In response to the upsurge in religious and racial acts of hate and violence both nationally and worldwide, the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island kicked off a Secure Community Campaign. The plan provided no-cost risk assessments to Jewish institutions, agencies, cemeteries and synagogues within the catchment area, as well as: MIR-3, a security communications system for community-wide use; a security liaison to foster relationships and coordinate communications with local and national law enforcement agencies; a community security consultant to provide training, education and guidance to all agencies; lobbying and attention to federal funding for ongoing maintenance of said security and safety measures; and a grants process to defray the cost of security upgrades. Women’s Alliance Endowment Fund

The Women’s Alliance Endowment Fund is a philanthropic community committed to creating opportunities for Jewish women and girls. Open to all women, membership is granted with a one-time minimum gift of $1,000 to the Women’s Alliance Endowment Fund.
