Dear Friend, Each year, the work we do at the Jewish Alliance indeed makes a difference. With today’s changing needs, the Alliance has implemented new initiatives to enrich the quality of life for Jews in Rhode Island, in Israel, and around the world. We’re connecting young families to each other and to the community, inspiring them to participate in Jewish life through Jewish camping, PJ Library, and other networking opportunities. We’re creating a community-wide response to the economically vulnerable, seniors, and many others who need support through our Living on the Edge Initiative. Living on the Edge The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island, with the support of Alan Hassenfeld, commissioned Brandeis University’s Steinhardt Social Research Institute to put together a report entitled Living on the Edge: Economic Insecurity among Jewish Households in Greater Rhode Island. The research showed that half of the Jewish households in communities served by the Alliance face economic difficulties. Rhode Island Holocaust Memorial Plans for the Rhode Island Holocaust Memorial had been underway for more than ten years.
