What makes us all look different? Right. DNA! This is also true in the monster world! As a researcher in the stop-monster lab, you will discover that monsters can look cute or mean, have distinctive eyes, wild hair, or weird noses. Artist Elke Desutter demonstrates how you utilise the stop-motion technique and glow-in-the-dark-effect to make your own monster come to life.

the master Elke Desutter is a visual artist who lives and works in Bruges. In the last few years, she helped realise and curate projects such as Bokashi be, Inside/out, and Passion & Obsession. Individual projects like Donate Yourself and the Book of Bruises started from an archive of images of models who she recruits through open calls and photographs herself. Some of the themes she works on are objectification, censorship, pareidolias and the body. Her practice explores the literal objectification of the body by means of photo and video collages, installations and assemblies.

In addition, Manuel is in the process of starting up Cinedraries, a film club for Antwerp youth, in which he combines culture and creativity with guerrilla filmmaking. In different languages he enters into the conversation about expectations and dreams. In recent years he has also been actively involved in mentoring young/new creators.
