BLACK CARTRIDGE Step 1. CLEAN WASTE TONER ( Black only, for Colour go to step 2 ) Locate the toner waste Bin / Hopper sliding door on the Black cartridge.

Simply slide back spring loaded door with your forefinger.

Vacuum or drain out the waste toner inside the hopper. www.adcon.net.au

Step 2. OPEN THE TONER PORT COVER ( Black & Colour ) Use a small screw driver or pointer to push the two sliding door locking tabs down. This will allow the blue toner port cover door to be slid open later.

Turn the cartridge over so that you hear the internal metal lock plunger fall away from the top of the blue toner port cover.

You will hear a metal on plastic drop click sound.

The Toner port cover can now be slid to the unlock position.

BLACK CARTRIDGE Step 3. Fill ( Black & Colour )

Turn the cartridge over.

You have access to add toner now that the Toner port is exposed / open

Fill the cartridge with the correct amount of toner.

Step 4. CLOSE THE TONER PORT COVER ( Black & Colour ) With your thumb covering the open toner port, turn the cartridge over again so that the internal metal drop plunger drops away again allowing you to slide the toner port cover back over the port to prevent toner from spilling out.

Step 5. CHANGE THE CHIP ( Black & Colour ) There generally are 2 methods for changing the chip. Use the one that suits you best.

Method 1: Advantage = No damage / final product looks as new Disadvantage = more fiddly / extra time Method 2:

Advantage = Faster and less fiddly Disadvantage = Can damage chip holder or chip

BLACK CARTRIDGE Method 1 : Advantage = No damage, Disadvantage = more fiddly REMOVE CHIP HOLDER FROM CARTRIDGE ( Black & Colour ) Use small screw driver tip to unlock the small locking tab between the chip holder and the cartridge.

Tilt the chip holder out from the main body of the cartridge.

Take note of the spring location. and remove the spring.

Locate the lug on the side of the holder and wedge the chip out with a screw driver tip

Install a new chip into the holder between the spring and the holder edge with the main contacts facing out.

Install the chip holder back onto the cartridge on an angle. Make sure the spring tip lands on the plastic shelf “ a� and click holder back onto the main body of the cartridge.

If installed correctly the chip holder should be secure but able to spring up and down inside the holder mount and push up when released.

BLACK CARTRIDGE Method 2 : Advantage = Fast , Disadvantage = Could damage holder a) Wedge used chip out of the holder with small screw driver. Try not to damage the holder

b) Install chip onto holder by sliding one end in under the outer clip and wedging in. Take care of chip

Note: In both methods, Avoid short cuircuting the electronics on the new chip. Do not rub toner powder from your fingers onto the chip.
