Procedures to convert a starter cartridge into a 2450 High Yield Cartridge Step 1: Unscrew the right end cap, ( image 1 ) from the Starter (TN ) cartridge, retain the screws for reuse. Chip regionality – OEM chips can be re-used, however, they must be from the same region as the printer. If a chip is used from a different region the printer will not detect the cartridge and the warning signal light will come one.

screws Step 2: Remove the OEM transit gear from the starter cartridge as shown in image 2. Make sure the foam washer remains in position on the cartridge otherwise the cartridge will leak when refilled. NB. If converting a standard yield cartridge ( TN-2430 Aust. or TN-2415 NZ ) into a high yield cartridge, then the OEM transit gear can be reused.
