Looking back to 3 months ago, I know I was impatiently counting down the days until summer. Now looking forward, it’s crazy (and kinda sad) to realize that the beginning of the school year is quickly approaching. Still, I can't wait to be able to meet new faces, watch our ohana grow, and show off our spirit at Club Rush!! Thank you for checking out this newsletter – I appreciate every one of you :)

EDISON

For the month of July, Edison had over 60 service hours from volunteering at the Kiwanis July 4th Pancake Breakfast and at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center July Concert. At the July Concert, Edison helped to set up booths, tents, pick up trash, and help with ensuring organization at the July Concert. Edison had a volleyball social with Segerstrom and Fountain Valley from 12:00 to 4:00 at Huntington State Beach at the Newland Volleyball Courts. The volleybrawl tournament raised funds to go towards the Governor's Project. In addition, at the volleyball social, Edison held a Tastetea fundraiser which raised over $100.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY

In the month of July, FV KIWIN’S has accumulated 153.25 service hours through HB Kiwanis 4th of July Pancake Breakfast event and two of Fountain Valley Recreational Centers’ Concerts in the Park. We’ve had a total of 3 fundraisers this month including calpico, R&B, and yogurt parfaits. The total sum is still being calculated as we are waiting on a response back from R&B. We also recently had a volleybrawl event with Edison and Segerstrom KIWIN’S where all three schools made a total of $81 to donate towards the Governor’s Project.

CORNER

GARDEN GROVE

Garden Grove KIWIN'S club has been steadily and progressively thriving, gaining more activeness and engagement with KIWIN'S. Despite the past of Garden Grove being less active compared to other schools, Garden Grove is now reinvigorating itself, attracting new members for the upcoming school year. We are also proud to welcome our newest board member, VyVy Tran, as the spirit chair, whose vibrant energy has brought new life into Garden Grove's KIWIN'S club too! Working closely together as a board, we have been actively promoting the club to friends and incoming freshmen, inspiring them to join KIWIN'S and be a part of the positive changes we aim to make in our school community this year. Our shared goals are geared towards creating a significant impact and ensuring a successful term for both Garden Grove and JET Division!

HB COMMUNITY

Since the last DCM, HB Community has volunteered at the Dinosaurs to People Event at the OC Heritage Museum and recently ended our Spreading Sunshine virtual card making event. We also volunteered at the 4th of July Pancake breakfast while hosting a macaron and ice cream fundraiser, making a total profit of $408! Currently, we are hosting a Back-to-School Donation Drive and are in the midst of planning a late-July to early August fundraiser. We strive to continue to bring more service opportunities to our club in the months to come. Thank you.

LA QUINTA

For the month of July, LQ has attended many events. We volunteered at the FV Concert in the Park on the 13th and also had a continuous volunteer event from July 17th-19th and July 25th-27th at the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club, helping take pictures, hand out paperwork and give out prizes. We had a takeover with our FV Kiwanis at Coastline College, where we played a bunch of games and had a lot of fun bonding with our Kiwanis, successfully raising 270 dollars. We also had our Seven Leaves fundraiser. All in all, LQ KIWIN'S has garnered 80 hours so far for the month of July.

LOS AMIGOS

Since June, Los Amigos KIWIN'S was able to volunteer in partner with the Bolsa Chica Land Trust on July 2nd and July 15th to restore the habitat of the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve by removing invasive plants, planting new native ones, and also cleaning up trash. On July 23rd, Los Amigos KIWIN'S was able to volunteer at the Nova Vita Festival at Tanaka Farms where members were be able to help out at check- in tables, vendor and game booths, and much more! Los Amigos KIWIN’S is currently in talks with Los Amigos Key Club to do a collaboration in August to strengthen K-Family bonds! Los Amigos KIWIN's is in the works of creating an award system within the club to increase and promote member participation!!

MARINA

Hello everyone! This month, Marina volunteered at the Someone Cares Soup Kitchen, where we helped serve meals to those in need. Additionally, we helped out with the Huntington Beach Kiwanis 4th of July Pancake Breakfast, where we also hosted a successful bake sale. On July 18, we took over our local Kiwanis meeting, raising money while hosting fun activities. Overall, we have earned 57.5 service hours and raised $637.14. Our future plans include a virtual social with Glen A. Wilson KIWIN’S, where we will create encouraging cards to donate.

OSCA

Throughout the month of July, OCSA KIWIN’S has been dedicated in preparing for the upcoming term in order to create a proactive club, along with strengthening our board’s leadership skills. Although our school gives us limited opportunity in raising money outside of school, we’ve begun organizing service based events such as drives, card making, and environment cleanups. We plan to implement these projects once club rush has ended, where our goal stands at recruiting a minimum of 50 new members. Currently, our main focus is to reach this target, therefore we have been meeting as a board to create posters and props which will appeal to our peers.

SEGERSTROM

Since the June PCM, Sega has accumulated roughly 35 hours from events such as the Jet Pancake breakfast, OC Heritage Museum where we picked up trash and guided cars into parking lots, and the North OC Beach Clean Up. Also on July 17th, Segerstrom participated in a fun volleyball social with Edison and Fountain Valley at HB. Finally, we held a meeting with the board to discuss our goals and plans including club rush.
