Another month has passed already? Wow I hope you all enjoyed january as much as I did. I would like to say thanks to everyone who attended the January DCM we had recently. I know with a virtual environment it can be very easy to lose motivation so make sure to take time for yourself to recharge your batteries!

To all the Jet officers thank you so much for working through this term! We only have a couple months left together so let’s make it the best we can. Make sure to get in all your members before February 1st. Thank you everyone for keeping up the KIWIN’S spirit and I hope to see you here next month.

CHARITIES PTP Established in 1992, Pediatric Trauma Prevention is a main focus of KIWIN'S in conjunction with California-Nevada-Hawaii Kiwanis. Pediatric Trauma affects children from infancy to age 19. It is the result of motor vehicle accidents, physical abuse, drowning accidents, falls, and animal bites, making it the leading cause of death of children in the United States. every year, it results in 16 million emergency visits and twenty thousand deaths.

To prevent these accidents and injuries from happening, KIWIN'S has focused on fighting Pediatric Trauma through raising duns and by increasing general awareness through education.

LIVE2LEARN Realizing the need and interest in supporting the Major Emphasis Program through hands on service, a new service initiative will be created on a two-year basis. All of the hands on service provided to children by Key Club International members can be directed to a single area of need to make a substantial impact This service directs and focuses the attention of KIWIN’S members to serve children in a specific hands-on approach.

Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.

UNICEF was created with a distinct purpose in mind: to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. We advocate for measures to give children the best start in life, because proper care at the youngest age forms the strongest foundation for a person’s future. (via unicef.org)

OLD BUSINESS JANUARY DCM | 1.31.21 On January 31, Jet Division manatees attended the January DCM for club, division, and district updates and made encouragement videos to earn service hours and brighten up someone’s day.

CAREBENDERS’ TRAINING CONFERENCE (CTC) | 1.16.21 On January 16, members attended CTC to learn more about KIWIN’S and how to master the elements of a successful campaign, especially members who were interested in running for club, divisional, district, or international board through workshops that covered many topics from making your campaign stand out, District Board officers’ personal experiences and more!

NEW BUSINESS AWARDS WORK DAY | 1.30.21 Confused about Awards? Attend the district Awards Work Day to attend workshops about how to apply for Section 2 awards along with tips and tricks and ask questions if you have any!

SCHOLARSHIP WORK NIGHT | 2.5.21 Confused about scholarships and how to get free money? Attend the district scholarship Works Night to attend workships on how to fill out scholarship forms!

KEY TO COLLEGE | 2.7.21 Bond with KIWIN’S older siblings, UCI’s Circle K, at Key to College! Learn more about what it is like to attend an university and Circle K. CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER | 2.8.21 Support Jet Division KIWIN’S and Petriatic Trauma Program (PTP) at Chipotle from Monday, February 8 from 5 to 9 PM.
