With the Holidays over I hope you all had a safe and amazing time.

Things are really different this year but I know Jet KIWINNERS are built different. Welcome back to another newsletter and like always we had a spectacular month. Thank you to all the board officers for trying your best during these trying times. Even though we could not meet in person it was amazing to see y’all at the December DCM with D04N and D04W. I had so much fun collabing with them and I hope yall did too! I hope to see y’all soon and keep up that manatee spirit.

CHARITIES PTP Established in 1992, Pediatric Trauma Prevention is a main focus of KIWIN'S in conjunction with California-Nevada-Hawaii Kiwanis. Pediatric Trauma affects children from infancy to age 19. It is the result of motor vehicle accidents, physical abuse, drowning accidents, falls, and animal bites, making it the leading cause of death of children in the United States. every year, it results in 16 million emergency visits and twenty thousand deaths.

To prevent these accidents and injuries from happening, KIWIN'S has focused on fighting Pediatric Trauma through raising duns and by increasing general awareness through education.

LIVE2LEARN Realizing the need and interest in supporting the Major Emphasis Program through hands on service, a new service initiative will be created on a two-year basis. All of the hands on service provided to children by Key Club International members can be directed to a single area of need to make a substantial impact This service directs and focuses the attention of KIWIN’S members to serve children in a specific hands-on approach.

UNICEF The United Children’s Fund (UNICEF) promotes the rights and well-being of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.

UNICEF was created with a distinct purpose in mind: to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. We advocate for measures to give children the best start in life, because proper care at the youngest age forms the strongest foundation for a person’s future. (via unicef.org)

OLD BUSINESS SLIDE INTO THE DCM | 12.19/20 On December 19, Jet Division KIWIN’S along with Division 4 North and Division 4 West Key Clubs bonded together through icebreakers and passionate speakers and presentations <3 DISTRICT PROJECTS AND EMPHASES WEEK | 12.28 - 1.1.21 During District Projects and Emphases Week, Jet Division KIWIN’S raised awareness about KIWIN’S emphasis, including Petriatic Trauma Program, Live2Learn, and UNICEF, our Governor’s Project! Members posted tips on how to stay safe, such as wearing a mask, and read stories to young children to help their literacy!

Blanks of the Month Congrats to Estrella Moran, Katy Tran, Cynthia Bui, and Fountain Valley High School for being our December Blanks of the Month! Yay! Go Manatees!

NEW BUSINESS RAISING CANES FUNDRAISER | 1.4.21 Support Jet Division KIWIN’S and raise money for Pediatric Trauma Program by attending our Raising Cane’s Fundraiser!
