Above all, Jesuit relentlessly pursues God’s greater glory. While students’ academic accolades reflect the school’s mission, they are not the mission itself. They instead signify that Blue Jays are becoming the men that they were made to be: men of faith and men for others.

LATIN EXAM GOLD MEDALISTS

NATIONAL LATIN EXAM
The National Latin Exam (NLE) is a test given annually to Latin students across the United States and around the world. The NLE is not meant to be a competition but rather an opportunity for students to receive reinforcement and recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom. Depending on their scores, students may earn certificates, medals, and even qualify for scholarships.

STATE LITERARY RALLY

* * * LHSRA STATE RALLY
The Louisiana High School Rally Association (LHSRA) is a voluntary, nonprofit, educational association of middle and junior units of a school (i.e. 8-12 grades in a K-12 school or ninth grade centers), home schools, and senior high schools that are recognized by the State Department of Louisiana and the colleges and universities that coordinate the district and state competitions each year.
LHSRA provides opportunities for Louisiana students to achieve district- and state-level recognition for their academic and performance talents.
Students are chosen for State Rally from each school in Louisiana through various rounds of subject tests. High performing students compete at District Rally to qualify for State Rally, which has been hosted by Louisiana State University (LSU) for over a century.
In recent years, more than 4,000 students from over 350 schools have participated in State Rally after advancing from their District Rally.

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP CORPORATION
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) underwrites the annual prestigious scholarship competition which recognizes about 16,000 semifinalists, who represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. The NMSC designates semifinalists on a state representational basis to ensure that outstanding students from across the country are included in the talent pool. The number of semifinalists named in each state is in proportion to its percentage of the national total of graduating seniors.
Jesuit’s 27 National Merit Semifinalists represent 10% of Louisiana’s 230-plus honorees. Scores for Blue Jay semifinalists ranged from 213 to 225.
In the past 18 years, 521 Blue Jays have been honored as National Merit Semifinalists.
Complete information about the competition is on the NMSC’s website: www.nationalmerit.org.
PERFECT ACT® SCORES
Fewer than half of one percent of students who take the ACT® earn a top score. Each year, only about 4,000 out of nearly 1.3 million students who take the ACT® earn a top composite score of 36.
Additionally, students can also earn a “superscore” of 36 on the ACT®. A superscore is the average of the student’s best scores in each subject from multiple test attempts. A traditional composite score is the average of the four subject scores from a single ACT® test attempt.
Complete information about the ACT ® is on the ACT ® website: www.act.org.

COLLEGE BOARD AP SCHOLARS
The College Board recognizes students for exceptional achievement on college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams. AP tests are scored on a scale of 1-5.
The AP Scholar designation recognizes students who earned scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. The AP Scholar with honor designation recognizes students who earned an average of 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more AP exams. The AP Scholar with distinction designation recognizes students who earned an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scored 3 or higher on five or more AP exams.
Complete information about AP Scholars is on the College Board’s website: ap.collegeboard.org. *
PERFECT SAT® SCORES
The SAT® is a standardized test that aims to measure students’ knowledge of math, reading, and writing, as well as their college readiness, and fewer than 0.07%—or 7 in 10,000—of all students who take the SAT® achieve a perfect score of 1600.
Complete information about the SAT ® is on the College Board’s website: satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat.
