MY NAME IS JESSIE VENICIA

ThisyearIturned20 yearsold.Iwasbornand raisedinIndonesiauntilI amgoingtocollege.Iam attendingtheNational ChengKungUniversity. Andnow,I'ma sophomoresecondsemesterintheIndustrial Designdepartment.

Remote Introduction & Background

Theuseofawirelessremotecontroleliminatestheneedfor theoperatortobeindirectcontactwitharunningmachine. Thismeanstheoperatorcanpositionthemselvesinasafer manner,fartherawayfrommovingparts,harmfuldust,noise, vibration,orfallingdebristhatmayoccur.Operatingby wirelessremotecontrolalsoallowstheoperatortomovemore freely,enablinghim/hertogainthebestviewpointofthe workbeingperformed.Thisiscommoninthedemolition robotworld.Theoperatorcansendtherobotintoadangerous environment,suchasafurnaceorhangingfromacrane.The machineistakingalltherisks,whiletheoperatorislocatedin asaferlocation.

Motivation

Remotetechnologymayappealtoayoungeraudiencewhois awareofthephysicaltollthatcomesfrommanuallabor. Becauseusingaremotecontroldoesnotfatigueanoperator’s bodyinthesamewaythatrunningamanualsurfaceprep grinderorjackhammerdoes,operatorscanavoidinjuryand stayintheworkforceforalongerperiod.Reducingthe physicalrequirementofbrutestrengthalsoexpandsthelabor poolavailabletocontractorswhoarelookingtofindand retain skilled operators. This can reduce downtime for operatorsanddecreasetheriskofinjuryonthejob.

PROBLEMS

TherearealsoproblemswiththePowerPointclickersdifferverymuch insize,dependingonthenumberoffeaturestheyhave.Somearesmall enoughtoconcealinthepalmofyourhand.Thisishelpfulfor connectingwithyouraudience,astheyarenotawareofthedeviceyou areusing,soitisagoodideatolookatalltheavailablefeaturesand considerwhetheryouarereallygoingtoneedthem.However,one featurewhichpresentersdofindveryhelpfulenabledonsomeclickers,is thefacilityforsoundlesstimealertsatpresetintervals.Thisenablesyou toknowhowyouaredoingtime-wiseandtoensurethatyouhave finishedyourpresentationbeforeyourtimerunsout.

Mydesignconceptisfromapersonalpointofview(POV).POVisused especiallyindescribingascenefromwhatyouhaveseen.Makingyour ownperspectiveandideasfromyouropinionsjustlikethepictures,it seemslikeitisatrapeziumbuilding/blockbutitisactuallysquare.

ItmakesmeinterestedinusingthiskindofPOV inmydesignandmakingitmorevaluablefrom anyperspective.Expressingthepresenter'spoint ofviewlikethepresenterwantstoshowthe audiencetheirPOVwhilemakingtheaudience theirownPOV.

PROTOTYPE TESTING

Testing the proportion of the average hand of man and woman. Getting some feedback from the user testing and I decided to make these proportions.

MOCKUPS

UsePUandthencoveritwithcement.Applyit 5-10timesandthenusesandpapertomakethe surfacesmooth.Whenitissmoothenoughapply colorsusingcolorspray.

PROBLEMS

Curtainsplayanimportantroleingivingthespacetherightlookand feel.Forinstance,sheercurtainsallowaroomtobefilledwithsoft, naturallighting,whileblackoutcurtainscanmakearoomperfectly darkenedforagoodnight’ssleep.Nowimaginebeingabletoswitch betweenthesetwolightmodeswithoutneedingtogetupfromthebed, usingaprovidedtablet.Soundslikeaperfectlazy-dayfull-relaxation stay,doesn’tit?Andthat’satypeofadvancedroomserviceyourguest roomscanprovide-withjusttheinstallmentofmotorizedcurtains.

Youknowwhat,settingupyourhotelroomswithmotorizedcurtains canreallygiveguestsareasontotalkaboutyourservice!Ateach moment,hundredsifnotthousandsofguestswillbesatisfied.

DESIGN CONCEPT

Myconceptisusingtheslidingmethodtoopenthecurtain.why?

BecauseIwanttonotcompletelyremovethesensationswhenyouopen thecurtain.So,I'mtryingtomakeacurtainremotecontrolwitha slidingbutton.

Makingtherightporpotionfromtheproportiontestingandthanuse thesametechniqueastheremote1.IusePUandthencoveritwith cement.Applyit5-10timesandthenusesandpapertomakethe surfacesmooth.Whenitissmoothenoughapplycolorsusingthe colorspray.

From these mockups, I get feedback about the color.theysaidthecolor istoodarkforthecurtain remote. So I'm making withlightcolortone.

TAIN

TAIN isawindowcurtainremotecontrolwith an ellipse shape design for more comfortable holdingandeasygrabbing.Moreconvenientto openbigormanycurtainswithoneslideor click. TAIN comeswithBluetoothtechnology tohelpyoueasytocontrolitwheneveryou want.

FUNCTION

OPEN AND CLOSE BUTTON

Thisbuttonopensjustonecurtain,Ifyou don'twanttoopenallthecurtainsyoucan pressthisbuttonThereare2buttonshere, theleftbuttonisforslidingthecurtaintothe leftandtherightbuttonisforslidingthe curtaintotheright.

Volcano Introduction & Background

IndonesiaisoneoftheequatorialcountrieslocatedinthePacificRingof Fire.Theseareashaveformedahorseshoeofapproximately40,000km (25,000miles)fromSouthAmericatoNorthAmericathroughthe BearingStrait,JapanuptoNewZealand.AlongtheRingofFire,there are452volcanoes,ofwhich75%areinactivestatus.Itcanbesaidthat Indonesiaisthecountryhavingthemostactivevolcanoesintheworld.

Indonesiahasagreatnumberofvolcanoesintheworld.Thereare147 volcanoes,and76ofthemareactivevolcanoesandspreadalongwiththe islands of Sumatra, Java, Celebes, and Lesser Sunda. This means Indonesiahasatremendousopportunitytofaceeruptiondisastersinnext future.ItcanbesaidthatIndonesiaisthewindowofthevolcanicworld.

Motivation

Our team brainstormed about the problem caused by the volcanoeruptionthatusuallyeruptsinIndonesia.Andwehave severalmotivationsfordoingthevolcanocrisisdesignbecauseI andoneofmyteamisfromIndonesia.

PROBLEMS

WeusedAEIOUmethodforour brainstorming. We found several events that occurred around the timeoftheeruption.

Fromwhatwediscussedwedecided todivideitintotwodifferenttime problemsitisafterandbeforethe eruptions.WealsousedKJmethod andgetourPOVandHMW.

設計觀點POINT OF VIEW： PEOPLE WHO LIVE AROUND VOLCANO AREAS NEED CLEAN AIR AND ENVIRONMENT BECAUSE OF THE EFFECTS OF THE ERUPTION. SO, HAVING TOOLS TO HELP THEM BREATHE AND CLEAN EASILY ARE SO IMPORTANT.

ImadeseveraldesignideasformyprojectandIdecidedtogowiththe vendingmask.becauseitcanbeusedbeforehandaftertheeruptions. Andthisisthefinalsketchdesigns.

Thisisthefirstprototypei'vemade. thefeedbackofthisprototypeisthat thebuttonisnoteasytopress.Soi changetheplaceofthebutton.

I change the button layout and tryingtousingadifferentmaterials.

Since it is placed outsideitisbetterto usetherainwater.and Ineedtomakewater purifiedforthat.

MOCKUPS

Forthismockup,Iusedwhiteacrylictorepresentthelightsand themiddleoftheproductistheplacewherethemaskisstored.For theboxIusedthewoodboard,IfeellikeI'mmakingthewrong decisionforusingthewoodboardbecauseinmydesignIhavea watercomponent.itwillgetthewoodsoakwiththewater.So,for mynextstep,iwillusetheacrylicboard.
