AT THE BOCA RATON, we consider history the quiet architecture of the present, revealing patterns beneath today’s passing events. And it only feels appropriate that within these pages, we celebrate what we consider history in the making.
Recently, we opened the Cloister Inn Museum, archiving much of our resort and Club’s 100-year history. Located at Cloister and just beyond the original cast-stone door surround, the museum features historic furnishings and artwork, adding context to the magnificent destination that Addison Mizner created. When you enter the museum, I encourage you to take in the large-scale portrait of Mizner, created by painter Serge Strosberg, who reimagined this color portrait from a black-andwhite archival photograph.
When speaking about the future, we would be remiss not to mention our youngest members and Club goers. The Racquet Club brings junior programming to our pint-sized tennis players. With training open for kids 3 years old and up, our tennis pros are working to develop not just athletes, but young players who can extend their lessons of tenacity and hard work on the courts to their lives outside of it. Read more on page 26.
Also in this issue is a peek at the impressive work from our VIP Ambassador team, who works tirelessly to ensure a stay at The Boca Raton is not just special, but catered to. They have changed the definition of luxurious retreats with their attention to detail, pre-arrival plans, and ability to anticipate travelers’ needs. Headed by Capucine Gombert, the VIP Ambassadors are focused on a traveler’s every wish while anticipating their needs in a seamless way.
In addition, we proudly celebrated two back-to-back occasions: our Centennial celebrations and the secondannual Artisans of Wine & Food. Our Centennial celebration brought our rich 100-year legacy to life through contemporary grandeur. We toasted to the past while looking toward the future—celebrating with live music, exceptional cuisine, spectacular fireworks displays, and moments that fostered a shared sense of pride in all that The Boca Raton represents.
Immediately following the Centennial celebration was another long weekend dedicated to wine and epicurean mastery. Our property hosted the second-annual Artisans of Wine & Food, along with Napa Valley Vintners,

welcoming more than 120 vintners for culinary magic and wine distinction. Capped with a gala headlined by the legendary Mario Carbone, the celebration toasted to philanthropy, with proceeds benefiting Place of Hope in Palm Beach County and the Napa Valley Vintners Youth Wellness Initiative.
Throughout the many celebrations, we have seen how special The Boca Raton is to various individuals. Witnessing the heartfelt manner in which our Club members, dear friends, and community leaders joined our festivities reaffirms our excitement that the next 100 years will be just as momentous as this past one.

New happenings at the property, from a titan reimagined in paint to Puerto Rican cuisine, New Orleans energy and a caffeine fix.

Some tales are worth writing about, and in the case of The Boca Raton’s iconic century-long history, it’s being spotlighted in an artisancrafted coffee-table format with trusted publishing partner Assouline. Nearly 160 pages of beautiful historic and modern-day photography complement the 100-year legacy of The Boca Raton in this newly launched book written by journalist James Reginato with Susan Gillis of the Boca Raton Historical Society serving as historic advisor. The book, “The Boca Raton: A Century of Being Iconic,” is both a tribute and a journey through Addison Mizner’s original vision, dotted with the stories of the stewards who guided The Boca Raton through times of transformation, challenge and triumph. As The Boca Raton celebrates its centennial, this volume invites readers to look back with admiration and forward with inspiration. Limited quantity now available at Boca Chica shop.
Harborside Pool Club comes alive with Bourbon Street energy at Second Story, the newly transformed al fresco lounge that overlooks the pools from its second-floor perch. In partnership with New Orleans’ Sazerac spirits, Second Story brings a French Quarter-inspired retreat to the pool club’s rooftop lounge, inviting members and resort guests to sip speakeasy favorites like the Sidecar and French 75, and dine on shareable plates that celebrate the soulful flavors of the South. Live performances from jazz musicians and DJs set the scene beneath twinkling bistro lights.

A taste of the Caribbean comes to The Boca Raton with Onda’s newest guest chef, José Santaella, a celebrated Puerto Rican chef, restaurateur and cookbook author with more than two decades of expertise rooted in the island’s culinary traditions. Part of Onda’s commitment to showcasing culinary stars whose talents shine at Beach Club’s coastal restaurant, Santaella presents a curated menu drawing from the vibrant flavors of his home island. Onda’s menu includes chorizo and sweet plantain empanadillas; pork belly salad with watermelon, mango, and Puerto Rican cheese; and fried whole red snapper with cilantro chimichurri.
“Every recipe at Onda honors the colors, tastes and the emotions of Puerto Rico’s cuisine,” said Santaella. “This partnership is about more than food. It is about sharing a piece of the island, its warmth, creativity, and soul, with a new community.”

The Boca Raton welcomes the worldrenowned Julius Meinl as its exclusive coffee provider. The storied Viennese coffee brand is widely regarded as a symbol of Austria’s historic coffeehouse culture and refined European café tradition. “Coffee is a core product at The Boca Raton that creates an emotional connection through daily rituals and traditions,” says Joe Glasgow, The Boca Raton’s VP of Marketing & Commercial Strategy. “We found that Julius Meinl’s commitment to quality and excellent product was perfectly aligned with the five-star experience we create for our members and guests.” Taste the difference at all of The Boca Raton’s food and beverage outlets that serve coffee products, as well as at events throughout the year.
Can one painting bring the past to the present? If you ask Serge Strosberg, a South Florida-based artist who has been reimagining the region’s most prolific players, the answer is yes. Born in Belgium and trained at the Académie Julian in Paris, where he focused on graphic design and painting in oil and egg tempera, Strosberg has created a portfolio of “modernized” portraits of titans in the area, including Henry Flagler and the Vanderbilts. Using vintage photos as his muse, Strosberg’s modern-day interpretations of the historic images are marked by brightly colored hues, striking details, and an oftenwhimsical approach.
For The Boca Raton, Strosberg has created a commissioned painting of Addison Mizner, the visionary creator of the property. Located inside the newly opened Cloister Inn Museum: A Mizner Legacy, the largescale painting is based on a familiar black-and-white photograph of Mizner at the opening of the original Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn in 1926.

Located in the city’s most exciting new neighborhood, this timelessly chic residential tower will offer the ultimate South Florida lifestyle. Beaches and boating, Italian-style dining, and social spaces are just steps from home.
Residential interiors and amenity spaces reflect the global culture and oceanside energy that gives West Palm Beach its unique character and soul. Rich, natural materials, open, light-filled layouts, ocean-inspired elements and masterful craftsmanship touch every detail of design.

ON A SUNLIT AFTERNOON, THE steady thwack of a tennis ball echoes across the 14 HydroGrid courts at The Boca Raton, where more and more children are trading digital screens for racquets. Once seen primarily as a sport for adults or elite athletes, tennis is rapidly gaining popularity among kids of all ages—and for good reason.

Between Racquet Club’s many after-school programs and weekend lessons, the game has captured the interest of young players, some as tiny as 3 years old. In a recent poll, more than 25 million Americans play the sport, with a steady annual increase over the past five years. The way the tennis pros and parents see it, as children learn to serve, rally and score, they’re not just developing athletic skills—they’re gaining confidence and habits that can last a lifetime.
“With tennis, you teach kids life lessons,” says Shari Franco, one of Racquet Club’s lead pros and a favored instructor among youths. “I saw a kid on a court once, and he got so frustrated with himself because he was missing his shots. I told him to keep working at it and never give up. Let’s think about the positive, I said. Then, he went back on that court and started improving.”
Franco is one of the many instructors at Racquet Club who are dedicated to showing young players the beauty of the sport. The facility caters to players of all ages, with dedicated programming divided between age groups and skill levels. The Mini Red is for beginners ages 3 to 5, the Red group is for those 5 to 7, the Orange group is for 7 to 10, and the Green group is for 9 to 11. Each group plays

with a different type of tennis ball with reduced compression to make the ball movement slower and lower-bouncing for the younger player to work on hand-eye coordination.
Another racquet sport, pickleball, is also enjoying a meteoric surge among participants both young and senior. In a few short years, pickleball has gone from nearly no presence in the U.S. to more than 13 million Americans, with its participation figures growing more than 200% in that span. To respond to the demand of pickleball among all generations, The Boca Raton has added more specific courts to its Racquet Club in recent years, with a total of 12 newly transformed hard-surface pickleball courts.
For instructors like Franco, this love of racquet sports has allowed her to share her lifelong passion for the sport with others, especially the youth. As the club welcomes more younger families and travelers, Franco has seen more pint-sized children participate in the Mini Red and Red group and private lessons, kids who run up to Franco when they arrive at the courts. Choruses and greetings of “Coach Shari!” from little voices often can be heard around the mid-afternoon court sessions.
“I fell in love with teaching children,” Franco says. “I get such pride and joy when you see them succeed. I worked with this one young girl, and her father told me that he’d never seen her this happy. Nothing makes me want to come back more than a smile on a kids’ face or a hug from them. That’s why I love this.”

Usher in a new century with a glistening spa package
BY NILA DO SIMON
THERE’S NO SUCH thing as perfection—Oh, wait, there just might be at Spa Palmera.
When The Boca Raton added a grand spa to its stunning array of amenities in 2001, the idea of perfection was in sight: a 50,000-square-foot wellness oasis with aesthetics and services that even the most discerning royal could appreciate. Its ritual bath series became one of the spa’s unique signatures; inspired by Moroccan baths and the Alhambra Palace, the hydrotherapy service includes a self-contained bath zone. Here, guests can enjoy a range of hydrotherapies: oversized personal soaking tubs, a Swiss shower that invigorates, a deluge that loosens muscles, and a hot tub experience to finish off the entire ritual.
In 2026, both The Boca Raton and its Forbes Five-Star Spa Palmera are commemorating noteworthy milestones: a c entennial celebration for the hotel and club, and a 25-year anniversary for Spa Palmera. Which means new opportunities to achieve perfection.
To celebrate the centennial, Spa Palmera has created a decadent spa package called A Golden Era. The four-hour package’s celebratory spirit matches the same energy and meaningful intent that The Boca Raton has achieved in other areas of its centennial festivities. A Golden Era package flows through one luxurious treatment after another, including the
Gilded Waters Ritual Bath, a Gold Refine Body Treatment, and a Diamond Age Defy Facial, as well as lunch at the spa.
For spa goers like myself who have experienced previous Ritual Bath treatments at Spa Palmera, the Gilded Waters takes the bath formula and turns up the volume on extravagance. Sure, I expected to soak myself in absolute bliss when guided to my personal soaking tub inside the bath area with Moroccan-inspired vibes and interiors, but did I predict I would be lounging i nstead on a tub sprinkled with 24K gold flakes? In short, no. Was I thrilled for it?
Absolutely, yes.
As my soothing, caring attendant Angela led me to my soaking tub experience, she presented me with three bathing enhancements: a 24K gold bath balm, a honey scrub, and glistening bath gel, all presented on a tray of gold (naturally).

As the bath balm melted into the warm waters infused with notes of jasmine, rose and Lily of the Valley, so did my worries. For these next 50 minutes, it was time to decompress and feel restored.
As I soaked in the tub, Angela presented me with more gifts: Knesko eye masks— gold, of course—infused with collagen to firm, lift and repair, plus cold jasmine tea and Champagne. After 20 minutes in the soaking tub, Angela took me through the rest of the ritual with the Swiss shower, deluge and then hot tub. If this doesn’t sound like a Wednesday well spent, then I’m not sure what does.
It was an experience that I hope does not come once every century. It was glorious, restorative and transformative.
Might I even say, perfect?

A weekend of elegance and grandeur celebrated a century of hospitality and innovation
BY NILA DO SIMON

EVEN A CENTURY later, it could be said that architect Addison Mizner’s vision was bold. Groundbreaking, even. And it only makes sense to celebrate the milestone with a tribute that matches the enduring influence, innovation and community that has been created over the past 100 years.
The Boca Raton Club members and local community leaders celebrated The Boca Raton’s 100th anniversary with a special two-night fête. Together, the “A Toast to 100 Years” cocktail party and the Centennial Gala put a spotlight on the legacy built by generations of Club members, travelers, and associates who have shaped its place in luxury resort culture.

“A centennial is more than a birthday. It’s a reflection of impact,” says Daniel A. Hostettler, President & CEO of The Boca Raton. “As we honor the history of our Club and resort, we are also planning to invest in dynamic new experiences, continue to restore architectural treasures, and elevate every touchpoint. A century in, we’re just getting started.”
The “A Toast to 100 Years” outdoor reception at the entry of the iconic Cloister featured an all-ice Champagne bar, while the culinary team shucked oysters from the property’s historic water fountain. Guests strolled with glasses in hand, enjoying dishes from resort restaurants as well as dancing to live music. The evening became a visual delight with a breathtaking large-scale art projection on the building’s façade, showcasing past decades. The artistry was produced by BARTKRESA Studio, powered by 260,000 lumens. Guests’ attention was then turned to the sky for a spectacular fireworks show.

The following evening’s Centennial Gala began beneath the tented Great Lawn, before guests were escorted indoors through a corridor of electric violinists. A nearly 14-foot spinning birthday cake marked a dramatic entrance into the Grand Ballroom, where attendees were presented with their own individual ice sculpture that showcased their first course. To cap the remarkable celebration, an indoor drone show featuring 75 synchronized drones wowed the crowd, and John Legend took to the stage for an intimate concert. At the after-party, a seven-and-a-half-minute fireworks finale sent more than 3,000 bursts over the Golf Club.

“As we look ahead, our goal is simple but ambitious: to ensure The Boca Raton continues to set the standard for luxury hospitality,” says Coburn Packard, Partner and Head of Real Estate Equity at BDT & MSD Partners. “That means exceptional service, thoughtful design, and a guest experience that surprises and delights at every turn. It means preserving the soul of this place while continuing to evolve. And it means creating a legacy that future generations will be proud of.”

Every detail considered, every experience elevated— The Boca Raton’s VIP Ambassadors set the standard
BY NILA DO SIMON
THE BOCA RATON’S MAJESTIC ARCHED walkways, manicured courtyards, and glistening 200 waterfront acres may command visual precedence, but beyond its incredible beauty is a more rarefied experience. Distinctive, even. Here, the iconic destination prepares bespoke touches that are designed for those who appreciate discretion and seamless luxury at every turn.
The resort’s VIP Ambassador team redefines what it means to travel well. The dedicated team offers curated privileges that transform moments into memories and elevate an already legendary destination into something truly extraordinary. Among the VIP teams’ focus is caring for guests staying within The Boca Raton Suite collection—an exclusive selection of designated suites at Tower, Yacht Club and Beach Club.
For VIP travelers, the process begins even before they step foot on property. “We plan every aspect of their stay,” says Kristina Lathan, a VIP Ambassador. “There is nothing they have to do when they get here—except relax. We want their time at The Boca Raton to feel like home for them.”

The team works months ahead of a guest’s arrival to ensure every detail is just how the traveler would prefer. The private car that meets them at the tarmac? Arrived ahead of time with cabin temperatures acclimated to the guest’s preference. That favorite bottle of wine the guest mentioned during their last visit? Already waiting in the suite.
For Lathan and the entire VIP Ambassador team, it’s the little things that make the difference. The team keeps extensive notes of their VIP guests and their families’ favored amenities, as well as aversions. They are known for preparing their favorite bottle of water and snacks in suite, and knowing their food or dietary restrictions. Or working with the property’s in-house floral team at Boca By Design to fill the suite with favored flowers.

“The VIP experience is the most elevated experience that you can have,” Lathan says.
Created by Daniel Hostettler, The Boca Raton’s President & CEO, the VIP Ambassador service is focused on e levating the already high standards at the resort and Club. “We wanted to have a very curated experience,” says Capucine Gombert, who oversees the VIP Ambassadors. “We are here to give that exceptional service, and we make anything and everything happen.”
For VIP guests, this is where exclusivity feels intuitive, and indulgence is delivered with unmistakable grace. Upon arriving to the property, a VIP Ambassador awaits the guests at the valet entrance, greeting everyone in the party before escorting them to their suite.
The team has been known to anticipate needs before they are spoken. Some previous special touches include bringing a child balloons or plushies for their birthday, or candies from The Boca Raton’s confectionery store Maison Rose. They have set up in-suite dinners, including a recent Thanksgiving meal for guests who spent their holiday with The Boca Raton.

As Lathan puts it, “We are there for their needs, large or small, quietly orchestrating their stay.”
That includes literally building an outdoor basketball court from the ground up for a basketball-loving f amily this past festive season. Frequent visitors to The Boca Raton, the family looks forward to playing basketball every year while on property. This past season, however, saw the property’s basketball court removed. Still, Lathan did not let that stop her from providing a family tradition to these guests. After working closely with security and operations to ensure safety across all aspects of constructing and procuring a site, the VIP Ambassador team built a makeshift basketball court for the family and installed a hoop in less than 48 hours of the request.

The family’s reaction? “They were thrilled,” Lathan says. “They were so happy to be able to continue this important tradition.”
Brooke Martin, the VIP Manager, says it’s not just about the on-property amenities that make the difference for guests. It’s the post-trip touches as well. Like t hat one time a young child left her favorite stuffed giraffe at the property. Martin found the plushie and created a photo book filled with photographs of the giraffe on its adventures at The Boca Raton before mailing it back home. It was photographed on the golf course, at the pool, and dining on property. In her words, Martin wanted the child to know that the plushie was in good hands and, instead of being lost, had found new moments to stay spirited.
“ To be able to personally connect with these guests every day and be such a part of their family’s and their experience here is truly remarkable,” Martin says. “I love being here.”

For a New York City couple, a wedding at The Boca Raton was always in the cards
BY NILA DO SIMON

LEXY CASSOLA AND PHIL SANDLER had made up their minds long ago: It was going to be at The Boca Raton.
“We always wanted our wedding to be here even before we were engaged,” says Lexy, a senior editor at Celadon Books. “Phil’s mom, Joann, is a member t here, and his grandmother’s 90th birthday party was at The Club. We traveled there twice a year and always loved it as a venue. As soon as we got engaged, his mom reached out to [Catering Sales Executive] Ivette Savoie to see what dates were available.”
While their recent nuptials might have been predetermined, it could be said the New York City couple’s meeting was a setup. On Labor Day weekend in 2022, the two were vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard with friends. “My friends bribed me to take them on a boat trip,” Phil remembers. “They told me that there would be a girl there and I might be interested in her.”
Little did he know that Lexy’s girlfriends had done the same with her, telling her about the single guy from Boston who enjoyed the same things she did, including nature and the ocean. The pair hit it off on the boat ride, exchanging numbers and starting a long-distance relationship as Phil stayed in Boston to continue working in commercial construction management. Two years l ater, Phil asked Lexy to marry him close to the same location where the two met on Martha’s Vineyard.
The November 2025 wedding was a reflection of the couple: spirited, organic and heartfelt. The two decided to make their wedding a destination event for travelers, hosting a small family dinner on the Thursday night before the wedding at Principessa Ristorante. “It was a nice, quiet moment for both sides of the family to get to know each other better,” Lexy says.
The next evening included a welcome party at The Flamingo Grill, with the wedding party renting out the entire space and featuring a DJ and cigar roller. “We wanted to present an [entirely] different part of the resort, a venue that overlooked the golf course,” Lexy says. Afterward, the party spilled over to Palm Court, where guests continued the festivities.

Then, on Saturday evening, Lexy and Phil said “I do” under the stars. The nighttime nuptials began on Harborside Lawn, an intentional choice to showcase the outdoor atmosphere after two evenings of indoor festivities. Phil walked into the ceremony with the sounds of “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison lightly played by a string duo, and Lexy entered with “Linger” by the Cranberries wafting.
Nearly 150 loved ones witnessed Lexy and Phil say their vows under a canopy of glowing string lights. Phil’s uncle, George, officiated the ceremony. “We

thought a lot about who we were going to ask to officiate our wedding,” Phil says. “We thought it should be someone we know. And Uncle George was perfect. He made the ceremony feel very personal to us, even incorporating the story of how we met in Martha’s Vineyard into the speech.”
Cocktail hour was hosted nearby at the Cloister Garden, flowing naturally from Harborside Lawn to another picturesque outdoor space. The beverage team created two signature cocktails, a play off a t equila Paloma and a Dirty Grey Goose Martini with blue cheese olives (no vermouth), both of which were crowd hits.

For the reception, guests celebrated the newlyweds inside Cathedral Ballroom, a showstopping venue known for its soaring coffered ceilings and embellished pillars. With The Boca Raton’s catering team and Boca By Design, The Club’s in-house event service and floral design company, the private space came alive with white and green colors from embroidered linens that added texture to the space.
Dinner had a loose Italian inspiration, a nod to Lexy’s paternal Italian roots, and included a surf-and-turf duo and a tiramisu dessert. The five-tiered wedding cake, created by The Boca Raton’s pastry team, included different layers of chocolate and vanilla, plus coconut and chocolate icing.
A bove everything else, Lexy and Phil say they were grateful to have their most loved people around them as they began their next phase of life together.
“It was so nice to see our family and friends all mingling with each other,” Lexy says. “It was just the best.”

Architect Addison Mizner’s legacy comes to life through a centennial exhibit
BY NILA DO SIMON

IT COULD BE SAID THAT the new museum at The Boca Raton has been 100 years in the making. And, for the most part, it would be true.
Opened in December 2025, Cloister Inn Museum: A Mizner Legacy was created as a devotion to preserving The Boca Raton’s history and its impact to the City of Boca Raton over the past century. Artifacts and relics of the resort and Club’s heritage are displayed throughout the bi-level museum, documenting the destination’s origin as a groundbreaking 100room inn that has evolved into today’s world-class destination.
Blended into Cloister’s fabric and adjacent to Sadelle’s main dining entrance, Cloister Inn Museum’s entrance placement is an intentional nod to the property’s origin story. Here—underneath the accents of the original pecky cypress ceiling and beams, and cast stone door surround—is where hotel guests and Club members are invited to take in history. The museum’s entrance is in the exact location of the hotel’s original lobby, giving today’s visitors a chance to breathe in the same entrance that the hotel’s first visitors ever walked through.
Greeting visitors is the property’s original visionary, Addison Mizner. An 82-inch-by-61-inch portrait of him, to be clear. Created by Palm Beachbased artist Serge Strosberg, the large-scale portrait is a modern adaptation of an original black-and-white photograph of Mizner himself, taken at the Feb. 6, 1926 opening of the Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn (as The Boca Raton was originally named). Painted in vivid oil and egg tempera colors, the portrait brings the space to life. Leaning against a wooden chair in a black tuxedo, cigarette in hand, Mizner’s countenance is steady as he welcomes guests, both in 1926 and now a century later.

On the wall next to the portrait are three enlarged advertisements from the 1920s that promote the idea of living in a new frontier of Boca Raton, touting that “Nights are long and hearts are light in the gladstone setting of the Ritz-Carlton Cloister at Boca Raton.”
T he ground-floor space also includes the treasured relic of the original guestbook from the opening party for the property, a fête that historian Donald Curl said rivaled “the social registers of two continents.” Behind the guestbook and encased behind glass is a miniature Cloister Inn model by Robert and Margaret Eskridge, a husband-and-wife team trained as architects and artists.
The museum was brought to fruition by Hector Rubio, The Boca Raton’s Executive Director of Creative & Programming, who immersed himself into the history of the property and city. He worked extensively with historians and curators, including those at the Boca Raton Historical Society. “The more I learned about the history, the more I wanted to s hare with visitors to show the true scale of what Addison Mizner set out to do,” Rubio says.

Nearly 100 years after an iconic photograph of Addison Mizner was taken, artist Serge Strosberg sits with u s to give insights on what makes his contemporary creation the perfect addition to the new museum.
WHAT WAS IT ABOUT THE BOCA RATON THAT CONNECTED WITH YOU?
Hector Rubio, who designed the Cloister Inn Museum, is really passionate about Addison Mizner. He gave me a three-hour tour of Cloister and explained the concept for the museum. I am European, so I could easily connect with Mizner’s very European architectural vision for The Boca Raton. Cloister completely reminds me of cloisters in Europe, including the one at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where I used to hang out before taking morphology classes.
WHAT TYPE OF RESEARCH DID YOU DO TO CREATE THIS PORTRAIT?
I l ooked at every vintage picture of Addison Mizner and oil portraits that were done of him and compared them. Most images are blurry and, in some cases, not very flattering. Part of the job of a portraitist (in my case, a painter) is to portray a subject in a natural way and with an appeal, someone sympathetic to the public that people will be drawn to. From what I read about Addison Mizner, he seemed to be an eccentric bon vivant full of life and sophistication, with an incredible vision for architecture.
WHAT WERE SOME CHALLENGES TO REINTERPRETING AN ICONIC BLACK-AND-WHITE HISTORIC PHOTO INTO THIS OIL AND EGG TEMPERA PAINT FORM?
To maintain color authenticity, dress authenticity, and surrounding background authenticity, I looked at reference i mages available online and provided by the Boca Raton Historical Society, as well as pictures of the walls and original furniture at Cloister. For example, the floor on the painting has identical color to the real floor in the entrance of the Cloister Inn. The green of the plants in the painting matches the green colors found on some of the old furniture and wood in the Cloister Inn.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ADDISON MIZNER WOULD REACT TO YOUR PAINTING IF HE WERE TO SEE IT?
I think Addison Mizner would appreciate the fact that his portrait was painted by an artist trained in Europe using the difficult and beautiful technique of oil and egg tempera painting o nly mastered by a few professional artists nowadays. Also, he would appreciate the sheer size of the painting. He was a larger-than-life personage. Cloister is a grandiose project, and I felt like he deserved a large portrait tribute as well.

Throughout the two floors are antique furniture pieces, including a nearly 5-foot-tall Italian high cabinet from the 19th century that was part of the original hotel’s furnishings. The second floor includes several 16th and 17th century pieces from Europe, including a Spanish/Moorish vargueño desk and Italian Baroque coffer. Mizner’s own c ompany, Mizner Industries, created its own set of furniture and décor designed in the same vein as ancient European pieces.
It’s not all old-school touches in this museum, as modernity meets Mizner on the second floor. For an interactive experience, visitors are invited to pick up an antique phone receiver for a few surprises. Lift the receiver to your ear to hear real-life newspaper reviews of the Cloister Inn, as recited by modern-day actors, from its opening day.
The Cloister Inn Museum, brilliantly integrated into the original Cloister Inn, preserves more than bricks and mortar—it safeguards a pivotal chapter of Boca Raton’s cultural history. In doing so, it ensures that Addison Mizner’s legacy endures for generations to come.

As the driving force behind his firm, The Jonathan Postma Group, Jonathan Postma continues to surpass expectations year after year, representing some of the most exclusive ultra-luxury properties from Miami to the Palm Beaches.
“We’ve achieved record-breaking sales for the highest-priced homes in the history of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Highland Beach over the past two years—totaling more than $200 million across just three transactions,” Postma shares proudly.
“Not only are we aligned with the world’s most elite buyers, but we also have unparalleled access to the best properties—particularly those that never reach the open market— allowing us to seamlessly connect the right client with the right opportunity. This level of specialization only comes from decades of experience,” says Postma, who is entering his 21st year in the business.
With deep on- and off-market insight, the firm operates on both the buy and sell side of transactions most people never know exist. “Clients come to us for access to truly elusive properties,” Postma explains.
Postma attributes his continued success to an unrelenting work ethic, passion and an intimate understanding of the Palm Beach County market, where he was born and raised.
“Florida makes sense for so many reasons—no state income tax, favorable property taxes, year-round weather and A-rated schools. We’re seeing increased demand from West Coast buyers following the mansion tax, as well as continued interest from the Northeast,” he notes. “We’re off to a strong start in 2026, and this is shaping up to be one of our biggest first quarters yet.”
