Moving Forward

HOW DO YOU define a legacy? Just as important, how do you use it as a springboard to honor the spirit that has shaped the past 100 years, while igniting a new chapter for the next 100? As The Boca Raton ramps up to our centennial year, there is so much to celebrate along the way—and we look forward to doing it all with our Club members and resort guests at the heart of every moment.

This issue of 1926 begins as so many editions have: with stories and updates of our present-day happenings and exciting offerings, all created with the past 100 years as a foundation for the future. We’ll give you a peek at the wonders of a Racquet Club social event, hosted by none other than Chef Mario Carbone for his closest friends. And we’ll introduce you to pickleball pro and top-ranked player Parris Todd, who provides her perspective on what it’s like to play on our courts.

Take a glimpse into the lives of our culinary team, which brings our signature dining outlets to life, including Sadelle’s and Principessa Ristorante. We invite you to see what goes on inside the kitchen. (Hint: Early morning arrival times are the norm at Sadelle’s.) And at Spa Palmera, we showcase one of the wellness center’s most futuristic-yet-holistic treatments, the Vichy Shower, a perfect option for Florida’s year-round sunny days.

And speaking of great experiences at The Boca Raton, we are proud to host our second-annual Artisans of Wine & Food, from January 15-18, 2026. This event has quickly become one of the most sought-after culinary and wine celebrations, and this year will be even bigger than last year’s premiere. Presented in partnership with Napa Valley Vintners, Artisans of Wine & Food is now a four-day celebration with more than 100 Napa Valley wineries. We’ll showcase vintner-hosted dinners and lunches, golf and pickleball tournaments, and a star-studded gala hosted by Mario Carbone along with an auction that benefits Place of Hope and Napa Valley Vintners Youth Wellness Initiative.

As we look forward to our exciting new amenities at The Club and resort, we also want to take a moment to look at what has made our destination so special for the past century. Since its founding nearly 100 years ago, The Boca Raton has been a magnet for travelers and members, and we wanted to share some of our milestones through snapshots of the people and momentous occasions. Please turn to page 46 for a look back in time.

Enjoy the issue!

The Hedley Studios Driving Experience allows guests to take one of its handcrafted, scaled electric vehicles for a drive within a 2.5-mile course on private resort roads. The thrill lies in never knowing what’s next; each drive is a surprise, as the cars rotate throughout the year. The Hedley Studios Driving Experience is complimentary for Suite Collection guests, and available to Club

A LOOK BACK

The Boca Raton is partnering with bespoke publisher Assouline to produce a designer coffee table book celebrating the 100-year history of the resort and Club. Timed with the property's centennial, "The Boca Raton: A Century of Being Iconic" is authored by prolific writer James Reginato and curated by Susan Gillis of the Boca Raton Historical Society, who highlights the vision of The Boca Raton’s current owners, BDT & MSD.

BEST FOOT FORWARD FOUNDATION

As part of The Boca Raton’s continuing mission to support the community, members of the property are looking to spark special moments for area children. In its collaboration with the Best Foot Forward Foundation, a nonprofit that offers programs for foster care youth to provide the opportunity for academic success, The Boca Raton will spread joy through its Holiday Cookie Program. Last holiday season, The Boca Raton donated approximately 1,000 cookies that were baked and packaged in our bake shop. These cookies were then distributed to more than 300 students from Best Foot Forward, a feat The Boca Raton looks to repeat this holiday season.

SHIFT TO FUN

The 35th Cavallino Classic Palm Beach, taking place February 13-15, brings not just a love of Ferraris, but also an exciting move to The Boca Raton after more than 20 years in Palm Beach at The Breakers. On Friday, ticket holders will enjoy the Tour d’Eleganza, a Ferrarisonly scenic driving experience, followed by the Cavallino Party Under the Stars at The Boca Raton. Approximately 200 sleek Ferraris will compete in the Concorso d’Eleganza competition on Saturday, which will take place on the 18th fairway of The Boca Raton’s golf course. Make vroom!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

This fall, The Boca Raton debuts The Game Room, a family-friendly space to relax and entertain indoors. Designed in collaboration with Rockwell Group, The Game Room’s design “was inspired by the reimagining of a Floridian pool cabana—a modern, residential twist on luxurious relaxation and fun, and bringing a playful outdoor typology indoors,” says Shawn Sullivan, partner at the award-winning Rockwell Group. Inside, guests and members will find a lounge, pool table, shuffleboard court, foosball room, and arcade, among other exciting diversions. (Can you spot the neon monkey decor?) “The Game Room incorporates different experiences within one elevated, playful space, so that someone could relax with a coffee and a book, while another family member plays a game or watches a movie,” says Sullivan.

MODERN EUROPEAN ELEGANCE FINDS ITS HOME IN WEST PALM BEACH

Located in the city’s most exciting new neighborhood, this timelessly chic residential tower will offer the ultimate South Florida lifestyle. Beaches and boating, Italian-style dining, and social spaces are just steps from home.

Residential interiors and amenity spaces reflect the global culture and oceanside energy that gives West Palm Beach its unique character and soul. Rich, natural materials, open, light-filled layouts, ocean-inspired elements and masterful craftsmanship touch every detail of design.

Queen of the Courts

Gold medalist Parris Todd talks pickleball, Boca Raton and resort life

TENNIS PLAYER-TURNED-PRO pickleball star Parris Todd brings style, finesse, and strength to the game and her new home of Boca Raton. We chatted with the Racquet Club frequenter and winner of more than 45 medals on the APP and PPA tours about the sport, her entrepreneurial endeavors, and the comforts of playing at The Boca Raton.

I have to ask: How did you get the name “Parris”— with the unique spelling?

I honestly am not sure of the exact story, but I know that my parents wanted it to be different from the spelling of the city. I know it was between Jade or Parris, and they decided on Parris.

What brought you over to Boca Raton?

I moved to Boca Raton from Naples, and one of the big reasons was that there were already a lot of pros in the area. Something like the top 15 of the top 25 pros in the world are here. As I’ve started to make a home here, I’ve learned that Boca Raton fits my personality better. There is a lot going on. And the airports are good—as much as I travel to play matches, having direct flights is helpful.

What is it like playing pickleball at The Boca Raton’s Racquet Club?

It’s a very high-end members’ club, and that makes it feel very cool and private. The connections and networking here are amazing. I’ve been able to connect with so many people who have had a lot of accomplishments and learn about their work.

I bet the members are pretty impressed by your accomplishments, too.

I guess you can say so, but I’m so much more interested in learning and hearing from everybody else here. I really enjoy getting to know the players at The Boca Raton.

What’s a favored amenity at Racquet Club?

I was there yesterday, and Racquet Bar is a really cool aspect, because when players are done playing, you can still stay together. The bar deepens the connection between members and players. Pickleball is so social, so to have that aspect to it is really great.

What tips do you have about playing in the Florida heat/humidity?

When you play at The Boca Raton, you have shade, and there’s an awning, so it’s good to take a break. When I don’t play here, I do tend to play indoors, which helps out a lot with the heat.

Did you ever think pickleball would gain this much popularity?

Yes, because when I started playing, I saw the community part of it. That’s how I fell in love with the sport. I was so tired from the constant rat race of professional tennis that

LET’S GET TOGETHER

Rally your friends, colleagues, and family together for a private event that is anything but ordinary at Racquet Club. With 12 pickleball courts and 14 tennis courts, there is room for unlimited match play—and fun. Whether you’re looking to host a bachelorette party, team-building for conference groups, or a family reunion with multi-generational attendees, Racquet Club can create personalized experiences for your event. Enjoy drinks and bites from Racquet Bar or add a customized menu from The Boca Raton’s lauded culinary team.

I wasn’t sure I wanted to pick up a racquet sport anymore, but the pickleball community was so amazing and gave me more life. I see it happening on the professional side as well as the recreational side.

What is on your pre-match playlist these days?

I am a country girl, for sure. I listen to Morgan Wallen, Bailey Zimmerman, and other new-age country music that’s a little poppy. Sometimes I’m looking to be slightly pumped up from the music, but there comes a side where I prefer something a bit relaxing, so it takes my mind off things as well.

How are the pressures of playing professional pickleball different from professional tennis?

It’s not all that different. We’re still athletes and still competing for a sport that we love. Whether it’s pickleball or tennis, I’m going to do my best. I’ve noticed that travel for pickleball is more manageable than tennis, because there are more domestic events. But pickleball is growing on a huge scale, so there might be more changes with time.

How has social media impacted the sport’s popularity and your presence within it?

For my personal brand, I want to connect with young girls coming up and be a role model for them. Or even for moms, I think I’ve brought a sense of professionalism in how we present ourselves. We can be professional, and still wear skirts and bows.

Do you ever think about how different your life would be if you never asked your parents at 5 years old for a tennis racquet?

Everything in my life has led to this. It’s crazy how if we made a different decision, we would be down a totally different path. My life would be different if I had stuck with tennis; that was definitely my trajectory. My parents wanted me to be the next Maria Sharapova. But playing tennis professionally led to my love of fashion and style. Now I understand fashion from A to Z. I’m able to tie it into sports, work for brands like Franklin, and design for them.

“Everybody can come here, relax, and have fun,” says Lauren Levine, Director of Racquet Sports. “There’s no greater feeling of togetherness than playing in an easy environment with your loved ones and peers. Parties walk away from their time here even closer and connected, especially after so much laughter on the courts.”

Rain on Me

Spa Palmera harnesses the power of water for its suite of wellness and relaxation offerings

WHEN INTENSE HEAT hits, one easy way to refresh and cool down is with water therapy. Enter The Boca Raton’s Spa Palmera’s Aemotio Body Collection, a series of water-based treatments designed to clean, calm and rejuvenate.

Since its founding, Spa Palmera has led the way in incorporating hydrotherapies into everyday health goals. It’s been said that water therapies can help with pain relief, improve mobility, reduce inflammation and even help reduce stress and anxiety—not to mention the clear benefits of feeling fresh and well cleansed.

Tapping into the long-proven knowledge that water-based therapies have been a part of wellness history—including evidence of how the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Roman, Chinese and Japanese cultures used bathing as a luscious ritual—Spa Palmera is merging science, history and modern technology into its unique programming.

Within its 50,000 square feet of space, Spa Palmera has taken inspiration from these hydrotherapy benefits, creating water-based treatments such as its celebrated Ritual Baths. And with the Aemotio Body Collection, Spa Palmera brings a whole new treatment series to Club members and guests. At the center of the Aemotio Body Collection is the Vichy Shower, a futuristic-looking shower that is unlike anything seen in traditional baths. It features an award-winning spa bed with a heated water mattress that guests lie on to receive their treatment, a rain bar with water that cascades onto guests, plus a steam bath and chromotherapy, or color therapy.

Inspired by the lauded health spas in Vichy, France, the Vichy shower mimics the therapeutic effects of natural spring waters and combines hydrotherapy with massage, providing both relaxation and physical healing benefits.

“The Aemotio Body Collection is for those guests who are looking for something different, something decadent,” says Vanessa Carter, Director of Spa Palmera.

The experiential therapy includes three full-body options: the 90-minute Royal Milk & Honey Treatment, 90-minute Citrus Splash, and 60-minute Rain Bar. As Carter puts it, the Royal Milk & Honey option is “an odyssey.” The different elements include dry brushing, plus the deep exfoliation of a honey and cane sugar scrub from the award-winning Pure Fiji line that nourishes and renews the skin while exfoliating dead skin cells. Then, guests are gently rinsed with the warm cascading water from the rain bar and bolero hand shower before a luscious coconut milk mask is applied to the body. A steam bath then opens the pores up to allow the mask to penetrate even deeper. All the while, the therapist is giving a face and scalp massage with coconut oil.

Meanwhile, the Citrus Splash is an awakening experience that uses Natura Bissé products, a luxurious brand with nearly 50 years of product

development behind it. In this treatment, the therapist begins with a body polish before applying a soufflé body butter. A steam bath helps to further nourish the body, while the Vichy shower and bolero rinses and soothes. Then a deeply rich body cream with antioxidant is applied for extra hydration.

Those interested in a more compact indulgence should opt for the Rainbar Experience. The 60-minute treatment includes a coconut body scrub and coconut milk mask, as well as the soothing feel of the Vichy rain bar and bolero cascading warm water.

“These series of treatments are the next level to your common services like a massage or facial,” Carter says. “The Aemotio Body Collection allows the guest to feel very present and pampered. These experiences are the perfect gift for those who always give back to others.”

Led by internationally award-winning designer Laetitia Laurent, Laure Nell Interiors crafts sophisticated spaces that blend modern elegance with timeless European principles. With a focus on clean lines and thoughtful palettes, Laurent's designs seamlessly weave together old and new elements, paying homage to a distinctly French approach to design. The resulting spaces exude refined yet relaxed luxury, creating the ultimate indulgence of effortless ease in everyday life.

of HOSPITALITY LEGACY

What began as one man’s ambitious vision to create a “dream city” in America’s South continues to thrive with the energy and sophistication that defines a modern luxury lifestyle. And within that dream city of Boca Raton exists a resort and club that for the last century has stolen the hearts of guests and members from the very moment they step on property.

INSPIRATION SURROUNDS US every day at The Boca Raton,” says Daniel A. Hostettler, president and chief executive officer of The Boca Raton. “I feel fortunate to walk these halls that breath the timeless vision of Addison Mizner and to meet members and guests who believe in the power of this legacy he created. The Boca Raton remains the personification of a dream that Mizner and so many others had. And carrying on their vision is a responsibility that I am proud to play a role in.”

With a tradition steeped in creative thinking and capturing new, innovative ways to connect with our 200-acre slice of paradise, The Boca Raton has evolved over the years. Here are some of our milestones and highlights that help define who we are as we move forward into our next century.

1925

Architect Addison

Mizner forms Mizner Development Corporation with plans to develop the city of Boca Raton. His team works out of the Administration Building, home of Boca Raton’s first restaurant and dorms for club employees. Today it is known as The Addison.

1927

Utilities magnate Clarence Geist acquires Mizner Development Corporation and plans a 300-room addition to the Inn, designed by architectural firm Schultze and Weaver.

1930

Geist reopens Cloister Inn, re-branding it the Boca Raton Club, a private, members-only seasonal club.

1938

After Clarence Geist passes away, his wife, Florence, and board members incorporate as the Boca Raton Club Inc.

FEBRUARY 6, 1926

Mizner Development Corporation opens the Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn, the original iteration of The Boca Raton.

1930

Tennis courts are added to the property.

19421944

U.S. Army occupies The Club to house Air Corps trainees and as classrooms for radar technicians. Some would serve in the Tuskegee Airmen group.

1944

Hotelier and theater owner J. Myer Schine acquires the Boca Raton Club, opening it for the first time ever to the public. The name is changed to Boca Raton Hotel & Club.

LATE

1951

After an unexpectedly successful art, craft and hobby show the year before, Hildegarde Schine offers up the hotel to host the event. This would eventually lead to the creation of the Boca Raton Museum of Art.

1940 s

Champion tennis player Fred Perry comes on board as the resort's tennis pro.

1956

Industrialist and land developer Arthur Vining Davis pays $20 million for the hotel and club. Davis lengthens the season and welcomes conventions.

OPENING DAY

Addison Mizner’s Cloister Inn opened its doors to much fanfare in February 1926. The opening gala was the who’s who of Palm Beach society, with 500 guests such as ambassadors, architects and socialites in attendance. Servers donned red coats trimmed with gold braids, attending to every guest’s need in English, French and Spanish. The Palm Beach Post wrote that the opening “was one of the outstanding social events of the season in Florida.” Giles Edgerton wrote in Arts and Decoration magazine a few months later, “Although it has every modern comfort and convenience, it is medieval in its inspiration and picturesque beauty.” The guest register (a repurposed songbook of Gregorian hymns) for the party is on display at the property, located on the second floor of Cloister above Sadelle’s; the Post reported that it rivaled “the social registers of two continents.”

1956

Legendary golfer Sam Snead joins the property as its golf pro; he celebrates at the resort with a cakecutting ceremony.

1968

Arvida adds the Great Hall facility, with event capacity for 1,500 guests.

1972

The inaugural Virginia Slims Championship tournament is played on the hotel courts, with 17-yearold Chris Evert winning the singles championship. Because she was still an amateur player, she couldn’t collect the prize money.

1980

Boca Raton Beach Club, located adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, opens with a private beach and 212 guest rooms.

The same year, “Caddyshack” is released; scenes from the movie were filmed at the resort and club.

1958

Arthur Vining Davis’ Arvida Corporation is created to run the property.

1969

The 27-story Tower is added, complete with Top of the Tower restaurant; golf course villas are also built.

1974

The Boca Raton appears in the movie “Live a Little, Steal a Lot” about notorious jewelry thief Jack Roland Murphy; Robert Conrad is seen with Don Stroud at the registration desk of the resort.

1986

The hotel is renamed the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

I went to Boca Raton with considerable skepticism, and I came away thoroughly impressed and convinced. …The Cloister Inn is as fine a hotel as I know of anywhere, and a creation of singular beauty.

1998

Mizner Center opens with meeting rooms, conference center, and Grand Ballroom for up to 1,800 event guests.

1997

H. Wayne Huizenga and the Florida Panthers hockey team purchase the entire property.

2002

Yacht Club opens, adding 112 hotel guest rooms.

2001

Spa Palazzo is added to the property’s growing list of amenities.

2007

The property operates as part of Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts.

2004

Blackstone Group acquires the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

2007-

2008

An era of world-class dining begins with Cielo Restaurant debuting at Top of the Tower and Morimoto’s Sushi Bar by chef Masaharu Morimoto opening at Cloister.

New York City’s famed Serendipity Restaurant opens an outpost at the property, and Palm Court makes its debut.

MIZNER MUSEUM, OPEN AT CLOISTER

It only makes sense that Addison Mizner himself will greet Club members and guests at a new museum dedicated to the founding of his crown jewel, The Boca Raton. Walking into the new Mizner Museum in partnership with the Boca Raton Historical Society, one of the first things guests and members will see is a portrait of a tuxedo-clad Mizner, cigarette in hand. Created by local artist Serge Strosberg, known for his polychromatic depictions of the vintage Palm Beach and Boca Raton lifestyle, the newly commissioned Mizner portrait stands sentry at the museum’s opening space, welcoming guests into a bi-level exhibit that contains rare artifacts of The Boca Raton’s 100-year history. “Mizner Museum is a culmination of many conversations on how to properly tell The Boca Raton’s history,  and we could not be more thrilled to give it a dedicated home at The Boca Raton,” says Hector Rubio, Executive Director of Creative & Programming. “With the support of the Boca Raton Historical Society, the museum will contextualize clues of life as a member and guest of this great property throughout the years."

A century in the making, the newly created Mizner Museum showcases the lasting legacy and profound influence of The Boca Raton through the years. Located at Cloister and across from Sadelle’s entrance—notably situated at the original entrance of the hotel that was built in 1926—the museum is a tribute to The Boca Raton’s origin story. Original furnishings from the property, including lamps, headboards, chairs, hanging pendants, tables, and more are featured in the two-level space. The original guestbook of names and signatures from those who attended the grand opening in 1926 will also be on display. Guests are able to take in the details through both visual guides and an audio guide available at the Discovery Center.

RIGATONI RACQUET CLUB

Chef Mario Carbone hosts an event playing with flavors and sports

OVER ONE EXTRAORDINARY SUMMER WEEKEND, the exciting worlds of sports, style, and signature dining came together at The Boca Raton.

Hosted by chef and Managing Partner of Major Food Group, Mario Carbone, Rigatoni Racquet Club brought the lauded culinarian’s inner circle together for an unforgettable weekend. What followed were two vibrant days of tennis, fashion, and delicious menus from the resort’s four signature restaurants in collaboration with Major Food Group.

Named as an homage to Carbone’s famous spicy rigatoni served at some of his award-winning restaurants, Rigatoni Racquet Club came to fruition after Carbone had the idea to entertain close friends in an intimate and highly personalized way. A fan of racquet sports, the chef wanted to celebrate tennis in a way that felt organic to him and his brand. The result? Game, set, and match for his guests.

THE SCENE : Sporting bucket hats and polo shirts branded with “Rigatoni Racquet Club,” Carbone’s closest friends and colleagues gathered at The Boca Raton to celebrate togetherness and endless summer nights. With a decidedly court-to-cocktail atmosphere, the weekend toasted to good fun with doses of energy and elegance.

THE SETTING: After checking into their guest rooms at Tower, attendees enjoyed a round of tennis at Racquet Club, where they participated in clinics with the Club’s tennis pros. Afterward, they had a choice to cruise along the Intracoastal aboard Relentless —a 42-foot classic Wesmac cruising yacht designed for one-of-a-kind experiences with friends and family—or lounge in a cabana at Beach Club or Harborside Pool Club. Others escaped to the spa for luxe treatments that melted away the day’s energy and dialed up the relaxation. Then, an evening of progressive dining began at Principessa Ristorante before moving to The Flamingo Grill, and ending at Japanese Bocce Club. The following day, guests experienced a one-of-a-kind

Sadelle’s brunch at the restaurant’s lightfilled Conservatory room before playing a round of golf at Golf Club.

THE DINING : In between points at Racquet Club, players dined courtside on Sadelle’s Towers with smoked salmon, white fish salad, and fresh vegetables; tea sandwiches; triple-decker sandwiches with turkey and bacon with pickles; Greek and Freddy salads; and Sadelle’s French toast and mini chocolate pastries. Dinner unfolded as a multi-course journey that had guests moving between restaurants, with each course highlighting a different culinary destination. While at Principessa Ristorante, guests were presented with tortellini pomodoro and Caviar Russe-topped zeppoles. Perfectly prepared cuts of meat and savory

sides were served on the terrace of The Flamingo Grill. And the night ended at Japanese Bocce Club, where Carbone hosted his friends for after-dinner drinks, desserts, and Casa de Montecristo cigars while playing bocce. The morning after, attendees joined Carbone at Sadelle’s for a grand meal from the famous brunch institution.

THE SWAG: The Boca Raton-branded tote bag filled with an array of gifts awaited each participant at their Tower guest rooms. Included were Bugatchi accessories and Rigatoni Racquet Clubbranded shirts and hats.

TOWARD THE END OF THE witching hour, Sadelle’s kitchen comes alive.

It’s 3 a.m., and Sadelle’s bakery team is filing into the kitchen, ready to create its lineup of world-famous baked goods. That’s because for this New York-style delicatessen, perfection starts early.

The croissant dough comes out of the fridge around 3 a.m., proofs until 5 a.m., and is baked fresh from 5 to 6:30 a.m. Sadelle’s popular bagels are boiled, seasoned and baked fresh. “That’s how we ensure that flakiness and crunch are perfect every single day,” says Chef Sebastien Feneyrol, Executive Pastry Chef of The Boca Raton.

“Sadelle’s is all about classic execution with premium ingredients,” the chef says of the famed New York brunch institution that has made its way to The Boca Raton. “We use the best European butter and flour to produce our viennoiseries—croissants, chocolate croissants, and more. It’s truly all about fresh, fresh, fresh—and always with that Major Food Group twist.”

The bakery team at Sadelle’s begins work on pastries at 3 in the morning.

Meanwhile, over on the other side of Harborside at The Flamingo Grill, the action begins around 8 a.m. This is when the morning team comes in to prepare menu items for dinner service at the mid-century-inspired steakhouse in partnership with Major Food Group. Today, the team begins work on the mushroom mille-feuille, blanching the vegetables and creating the stock for the evening. Menu items like the prime rib will be tied, trussed and seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning to macerate in before the rib is ready to be roasted.

Things are happening at Principessa Ristorante, too, where fresh-made pasta is king, thanks to the trusted hands of the culinary team, and aided by a pasta-making machine. The biga, or starter, for the pizza is made ahead of time, usually the night before, and then it sits out to develop. Chefs will come in the next day to add flour. The dough is then gently rounded by the chefs and allowed to proof in a container. On the second day, the dough has risen in the container, and after it’s proofed, it’s ready to use.

“Time is the most important element and ingredient in dining,” says Will Cox, Executive Chef of Signature Dining.

For Chef De Cuisine Takao Soejima of Japanese Bocce Club, freshness is key. Much of the fish is flown in straight from Tokyo— including the bluefin tuna, hamachi, and hirame (or flounder)—or New Zealand, such as the organic farmed king salmon, in addition to the fresh local catch that comes into The Boca Raton’s marina through its partnership with area fishermen. The wagyu beef is also flown in from Japan. The fish is cleaned,

wrapped, and kept in ice in Styrofoam boxes. Produce is also put away in a cooler.

At around 4 p.m., the sushi rice is prepped, a process that includes the extra step of adding seasoning. Depending on how busy the kitchen is, two to three sushi chefs work every dinner service, though Soejima admits that having four is not unusual during busy times such as high season. “It is always an exciting time in the kitchen and sushi counter, especially during season,” the chef says.

“We have a very simple philosophy at The Boca Raton,” says Chef Andrew Roenbeck, vice president of culinary operations. “And that is to work with fresh, high-quality ingredients, from fish to produce to meats. From there, our chefs execute with purpose and perfection.”

Complementing the culinary teams’ behind-the-scenes work is Boca By Design, the property’s in-house floral and event design team. With decades worth of floral design experience, Boca By Design are the creators behind the fresh centerpieces found at dining outlets such as The Flamingo Grill. Before dinner begins, the Boca By Design team is already underway creating centerpieces with in-season flowers and greenery.

Back at Sadelle’s, long after the last bagel and glass of Prosecco have been cleared, the kitchen closes up, and the chefs slowly depart.

It’s time to rest, and prepare for another great day of baking tomorrow.

Boca By Design puts the finishing touches on the ambiance at The Flamingo Grill with luxe florals.

The Danny Beck Band fired up the crowd with its electric sounds, while the youngest guests enjoyed water slides, a bounce house, an obstacle course, lawn games, and balloon artists. An elaborate buffet of summer holiday favorites featured Coney Island dogs, Holy Smoke wings, St. Louis cut ribs, a seafood display serving locally caught fish, shrimp and oyster bar, festive desserts, a children’s knee-high buffet, and a deluxe open bar. And as a grand finale, fireworks on the 18th fairway lit up the night sky.
