Welcome to the final stamp bulletin of 2024!
Since the last bulletin the Jersey Stamps team said goodbye to Chris Elligott, Jersey Stamps Production and Design Manager, who spent 11 years in the role! The Philatelic Manager, Sam Fleming and Philatelic & Marketing Research Executive, Roxanne Le Voguer were sad to say goodbye to Chris but are delighted to welcome Holly to the team.
Kick starting the first of the Autumn issues is Construction Vehicles in Jersey, designed by renowned stamp artist, Martin Mörck. The issue is a continuation from the previous two vehicle issues 2022’s Tractors Working in Jersey and 2023’s Emergency Vehicles in Jersey.
Jèrriais 2, illustrated by the fantastic Ron Mills, follows on from the 2022 issue ‘Jèrriais - The Traditional Language of Jersey’, this time with a focus on various phrases. One such phrase being Un pithot coêffi, which translates to a goose wearing a headdress.
Jersey is known worldwide for producing rich dairy products from the milk produced by the Island’s beloved cows.
The Jersey Dairy Industry illustrated by Chris Wormell, celebrates the various stages of the dairy industry in Jersey.
Jersey’s International Christmas celebrates the various festive food traditions of the more populated communities in the Island. Local food and lifestyle photographer, Glen Perotte used his skills to display the various festive foods cooked around the Island during the season.

Jersey cows are world-renowned as the bovine face of Jersey and continues to form part of the Island’s cultural image. Illustrated by Chris Wormell, The Jersey Dairy Industry issue highlights the various stages and products of Jersey’s dairy industry. Each stamp showcases elements of Jersey’s dairy industry, including previous methods such as hand milking, using milk churns to store milk and milk men driving around the Island on milk floats to provide fresh milk to Islanders. The miniature sheet features a milkmaid, wearing a sun bonnet, a headdress developed in the 19th and early 20th centuries to ensure protection from the sun when doing tasks in the field. The Jersey sun bonnet was built over a structure of canes which supported its shape and was then tied with a ribbon under the chin.
