Join Gerry and the eccentric Durrells in this charming, whimsical story of one family’s sojourn to an idyllic Greek isle in 1935. Fascinated by the Island’s flora and fauna, young Gerry finds inspiration in insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and the larger-than-life characters that the family meet during their escapades.

Adapted and directed for the stage by Daniel Austin, My Family and Other Animals was first performed in Jersey in 2007, and went on to travel to Guernsey, Sark and Corfu.

Following the success of our sell out course last year, Tai Chi is back! Tai Chi was originally developed as a martial art, however, practitioners soon realised its health benefits. Through regular practice it promoted relaxation, flexibility, coordinated strength and dynamic balance, allowing practitioners to remain fit and energised even into old age. This course is designed to cater for those who are beginners or want to refresh their skills. It will take you through different techniques and steps to start (or continue) you on the Tai Chi and Qigong journey

Do you know your Baroque from Rococo? And the Ancien Regime? Ever wondered who created three dimensional paintings and perspective in Renaissance art? And would you like to study Picasso’s painting that changed the art world and started the Cubist movement?

Lisa Oxenden-Wray, graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art will take you on a visual journey of the earliest known Lascaux Cave paintings through the Renaissance, the Dutch Golden Age and Impressionism to Surrealist Marcel Du Champs’ controversial “urinal” up to today’s New Artists, such as Damien Hirst.

Join Lisa on her course for an informative and exciting journey through the history of art. Perfect for those with a practical knowledge of art, as well as those interested in the historical aspect, this course will broaden your artistic horizons and maybe even inform your own work.

Limited to 10 participants.

Tomte Nisse

16 years + / Tutor: Kerry-Jane Warner

Thursday 19 November or Friday 20 November

10am - 1pm £25 / Members: £21.50

These little folk of Finnish mythology are associated with protection and the welfare of the home.

They appear all over Scandinavia during the Christmas season; the time of “hygge”; that cosy, convivial atmosphere the Danish create in winter.

Come and join artist Kerry-Jane Warner to create one or two of these mischievous little characters. Basic sewing skills necessary. A knowledge of blanket stitch and a small pair of sewing scissors would be useful but neither vital.

Limited to 10 participants, so make sure to book early as this workshop was a sell-out in 2019!
