Watercolorists had relied on the pure English sizing developed by Winsor and Newton in their series 7 as a standard. In designing the brush they committed to the full English standard whereas a size 10 is equivalent to a 12 or in some cases a 14 in other brands. The hair used is from male winter Kolinsky tales, the bushiest and most responsive hair. Instead of tapering down the belly these brushes extend the belly of the brush down to hold maximum color. The result is a brush that holds a flawless, split-proof point that is super responsive with great resilience and can hold a large amount of color. Each brush has chrome plated brass ferrules attached to black polished wood handles with blue violet dipped ends. Artist Stretcher Bars Pro-Lite Bars measure 1 ¾" in width and are a genuine ¾" deep. Compare this to the brand leader that is only 1 5/8" wide and 5/8" deep. This difference creates a sturdier frame. Some are pine, some are poplar and some are bass wood. The beaded edge on Pro-Lite is the same as the original design of stretcher bars. The brand leader’s beaded edge is much less pronounced. For re-stretching paintings, the bead is on both sides. Therefore you can turn the frame around and staple into fresh wood on the back if you ever need to re-stretch.

BACKORDERS/REFUNDS – In order to serve you better, our line item backorder system allows us to backorder all out of stock products with an aggregate total price of $35.00 or more. All products with a total line price under $35.00 will be cancelled, or the order will be held for complete shipment. Customers who have paid by check or money order will be refunded for any cancelled items. Charge customers will of course not be charged for any unshipped product. RETURNS: PRE-AUTHORIZED FORM – A pre-authorized return form is included in with your packing slip, and may be used in the event that merchandise, for whatever reason, is not satisfactory. Canson’s Mi-Teintes has long been one of the world’s leading colored pastel paper brands, and now in response to popular demand, Canson has expanded the line offering to include new Mi-Teintes “Touch” Paper and Boards! The Mi-Teintes Touch surface features an innovative, sanded-type coating with a smoother, finer tooth than other sanded papers, and is ideal for all work in soft pastels as it holds multiple layers of color on its highly receptive surface. This special primer formulation is available in 14 popular Mi-Teintes colors, from white to black and a wide range of both warm and cool mid-tones in between, and is applied (leaving a white border) to Canson’s special, archival French-made 218 lb. paper or heavyweight board. This makes for a heavier, sturdier surface than any other sanded pastel paper, ensuring your work will not warp or buckle even if a wash is applied.
La Carte Pastel is the very first product developed especially for pastel painting. La Carte Pastel has a 200 lb. stiff bristol-type weight, so unlike paper it cannot be easily folded, creased or punctured. This acrylic fixative is as clear as water, extremely lightfast, resistant to aging and non-matte. Excellent for fixing works done with pastel, pencil, charcoal, wax crayon, india ink, tempera and watercolor. Use it as a final varnish for acrylics and oils. Nothing beats Lascaux for sealing photographs, photostats, art prints, lithographs, proofs and gold leaf. Lascaux Fixative seals without aging and forms a lightfast, invisible scratchproof seal. They feature a flat top style moulding and are available in three popular finishes, gold, silver and matte black. Unlike custom frames, these framing kits are ready to ship the day they are ordered. To make one complete frame, you will need to order 1 pair of lengthwise legs and 1 pair of widthwise legs. The hardware to assemble both pairs into 1 complete frame will be included with your order. Each order will contain the pieces to build two metal frames. Because these framing kits are unique to the measurements of your artwork, you get to control which sized pairs you’ll receive for each frame. Minimum 4 pairs assorted.
