New Jerusalem, Heaven 77777

I’ve changed my address to Heaven I’ve crossed the Great Divide.

I know there’s no sorrow or crying, Because I’ve reached the other side.

I am so happy to be here, for the Lord Himself I see.

I’ve changed my address to Heaven, I bid this world goodbye.

I now live forever with Jesus in my new home in the sky.

I have no burdens or heartaches

And from tears I am now free.

I’ve changed my address to Heaven, I’m safe forevermore.

For the Lord built a mansion

And my name is on the door.

You can find us walking together,

For where He is, I’ll always be.

I’ve changed my address to Heaven, That’s the place you’ll find me.

Life’s Reflections

Willie David Edington, Sr. was born November 22, 1922, to the late William Edington and Alice Harvey Edington in Millington, Tennessee. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He attended New Salem Baptist Church in Frayser at an early age with his parents.

He was a World War II veteran, and after being discharged, he was employed with Bemis Bag Company for over 30 years. After retiring, he worked for the Memphis Security Company for many years.

He was a loyal and faithful member of Mount Austin Baptist Church, serving in many areas such as Chairman of the Deacon Board to the maintenance of the church. He was a debonair dresser. He loved his Mount Austin Family.

He was married to the love of his life, Sallie E. Edington, for 73 years. She proceeded him in death seven months ago. To this union, the had three daughters; Mabelene (Jesse) Dimmer, Margaret (George) Warren, and Mary (Thomas) Parham, one son, Willie D. Edington, Jr., proceeded him in death. He also leaves three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, special spiritual sons, Joe (Dorothy) and Fred (Barbara) Elder, and a host of relatives and friends.

TheLord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul;

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
