William Thomas, 76, beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather, and son, was called to his eternal resting place on April 30, 2026.

He entered this world on July 1, 1949, in Cairo, Georgia, born to Leo and Rosa Thomas. As an only child, William shared a deep and special bond with his mother, Rosa, whom he loved dearly throughout his life.

William proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974. He later dedicated 20 years of service to Kellogg’s. He was a proud alumnus of Melrose High School, Class of 1967, and remained a loyal supporter of the Melrose Golden Wildcats football program. He was also a devoted Tennessee Titans fan.

William had a passion for food and cars, especially his Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z, and Chevrolet Caprice Classic, among others. He was a member of the family church, Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, located in the Orange Mound community.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Kenneth Thomas and Eric Thomas; his daughters-in-law, Willena Thomas and Trece Thomas; and his four grandchildren: Mia Thomas (28), Kayla Thomas (24), Erica Thomas (21), and Josiah Thomas (17).

William will be remembered for his love of family, his unwavering pride in the Orange Mound community, and the meaningful impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
